Hey Kurt,
I know you took a through the scope picture of this buck while you were hunkered down behind the decoy....could you post it on here and email me that? I'd like to get one printed for hanging next to the european mount. Thanks!
When I found this buck on opening day of rifle season, it...
My cousin John came out from Iowa and hunted with me for the opener and took this buck on the second day...
He shot from this rock that happened to be just like a benchrest...perfect for my .338LM. The shot was 619 meters.
The rock was a great butcher block as well.
Nice bucks guys!! You have to love those heavy ones! I'd rather have a 14" buck with good mass than a 16" thin horned buck any day!
BTW, great field shots!!
Greenhorn and myself have a little history with this one....man I was glad I found him again after hitting him with my bow on September 12th. Kurt was running two decoys and finally lured him into within 25 yards. Beings that I suck with a bow, I blew the shot and hit him high in the shoulder...
Well done you two!! There is nothing better than hunting with the family...great pics!!
That was something when that rain started coming down Friday. It kept a lot of "roadies" on the pavement....grin!!
I had family along this weekend too. We had a blast!!...We did good!!
A few weeks ago I arrowed an 82+" antelope buck hit high like that. Greenhorn and I chased that buck about 7 miles until he went onto a place we couldnt go and he was pretty damn healthy the last we saw of him. I expect him to back in the area when rifle season opens...he wont run off this time.
Well done fella's!! Kurt, stay in the "zone" for this weekend.............big bulls and bucks are waiting!
BTW, can I go to Wyoming with the gang next year?......grin!
CH, No moose permit for me....I did draw one in 1977 and it went unfilled. I had spotted a large bull before the season and hunted for him the entire season and never found him.
Sure is fun to tag along on these hunts and just help out.
Just returned from hunting moose with my younger brother and good friend who both drew the same unit in SW Montana. My brother took this bull at daylight on opening morning with a .300WSM at 140 meters.
We ended up with 425 pounds of boned meat.
The three of us made two trips each(six...
My two good friends, Chip and Al pose with a ram Chip shot a few weeks ago. They taped him at 165" B&C. This was Al Klassen's 111th ram he has guided/taken in his sheep hunting career!! Al is going to be up here in late October hunting mule deer with me....I cant wait!!
Excuse the low quality pic as this buck was quite aways out there. There were two others with him and they bedded down in a spot that was impossible to approach.
Here's one we tried to arrow on saturday morning. The closer he got the bigger he got. Kurt was just on the edge of bow range to him when he winded him and split. I was up above on a high ridge and shot this little vid..check it out!
