Magagna just wants to replace the feral horses with invasive cattle. Hicks is a rancher and an outfitter, only looking out for himself and other rancher/outfitters. He has no place in the legislature, he's no friend of sportspeople.
Probably not worth rebuilding. A 4 stroke is the way to go. I had a friend that had a 2 stoke rebuilt at a marina, it lasted about 1 and 1/2 summers. Cost him plenty. He ended up buying a new motor anyway.
I've got a Remington 660 (20" barrel) in .243 Winchester. I love it. Very accurate with my handloads. They want big money for some of them, but I noticed that few of them sold.
I hunted in shotgun only Wisconsin 50 years ago. I used a Browning A-5, with a steel Weaver 1x4 scope with a mag extension and the barrel cut to 18". It shot Remington 1 oz. slugs the best, I shot a truckload of deer with it. I still have it as a bedside gun, replaced the scope with a red dot.
