On the bright side Ruger got me a limit on huns over the weekend. On the other hand he picked a fight with THREE different porcupines Saturday. Quick visit to the vet and a $250 bill later he's on the mend.
Anyone have any tips on training a dog off of getting into these prickly suckers?
Like many places in the Rocky Mountain West the County I live in in Wyoming has seen a major uptick in folks migrating to the West on their Rocky Mountain High. The County has initiated a rework of our planning and zoning plan. our current plan dates back to the mid 1990's. They have provided...
For country music lovers out there, we lost a great one last week. Bell was one of the kindest, most accepting people you would ever meet. Somehow he had a knack for walking up to total strangers and making a friend almost instantly. He had a warm inviting smile that seemed to be permanently...
As an additional tip, any time I'm walking in to a meat cache I start singing my favorite country song about a half mile out, the more out of tune the better. Let's any bears in the area know you are there before you get in their wheelhouse.
I've shot multiple elk in grizz country. Take the proper precautions at butcher time, move meat out far away from the carcass, hang it if you can >15-20 feet above ground if possible, pack out as much meat as possible day of the kill, take a leak around the hanging meat before leaving it to mark...
Agreed, I think my time is better spent looking at how bad of a season my Pokes are about to have with the opener against Illinois slated for this Saturday!
I agree with the sentiment that someone who takes out a federal backed loan should pay it off, but when in the last thirty years has our government or a politician on either side of the aisle given two chits about the national debt with any legislation that made a sizeable dent in the balance...

Looks like 96% of public sentiment a heavy NO to an outfitter license pool.
I never expect to draw these, I put in for about 6-12 chances for various species. I simply look at it as a donation to help our state wildlife and never anticipate drawing. An applicant had less than .001% chance of drawing.
In my experience it closes pretty quick. I'm guessing there are a lot of guides/DIY hunters with bait stations. Typically the quota is filled pretty rapidly. I've never hunted them on the big horns because it closes so early.
Yessir, will be getting a personal email on top of my online comments. I like Lee in general, he does support hunting and fishing rights which I applaud. I think he's missed the mark on this one though.
I made sure to let the task force know that as a resident of 26 years of this great State, their proposed 50% set aside is nothing short of welfare. I'm embarrassed that my county commissioner is one of those on the committee pushing for this the hardest.
I might screw up my undergrad Thermodynamics here but you can tell your wife that she may be right in the fact that the rate of cooling will be higher with hotter outside air due to the higher delta of temperatures. You can juxtapose your positional authority by saying that the energy efficiency...
