Well this is a wild turn of a thread discussion. We went from debating how many hookers and blow $1.9 billon can buy to pediatrician pay scales. I love hunt talk ☺️
These types of stories really make me rethink if our ag exemptions for property tax and lowered AUM fees for grazing on public lands are such a great idea. In theory I agree with them, I don't mind supporting our ag producers through subsidies. But stories like this make me wonder if we should...
This year my buddy and I doubled up on a couple antelope does. Had them at 225, my buddy was using his 45-70 iron site, I was running my remington 700 .270 win. Too far of a shot for the lever gun, I took a doe, she dropped immediately. We switched rifles, he made a shot a little far back in...
To steal a line from @Greenhorn , if you gave our Governor one good smack in the back of the head at least 5-6 special interest wieners would come popping out of his mouth at any given time. Since when has our State conservative party given two chits about conducting an EIA?!? How long before...
Color me shocked a company who makes money off tax payer funded data that's already available to the public wants to make money by supporting avenues that privatize wildlife. There's a reason they've never got a cent from me, nor will they.
Hunted there my whole life. Big bucks are around but not in great numbers. It's hunted pretty hard so crowds can be an issue on public since it's only a 10 day season. You might get lucky and walk into a decent buck, but it's by no means an overly trophy area.
Not to take away from the guys hunt, but he said it's not like they just kick it in a field and you go shoot it. It's only a 10,000 acre ranch, in relation to a wild elks habitat that's really not that big. Maybe they didn't kick it out of a pen for him to tag it, but it wouldn't be relatable to...
Wyoming's stocking program works okay. I've hunted several of the permitted areas and then the open release sites that they stock throughout the season. I grew up hunting wild pheasants, and with that experience, hunting pen raised birds just feels like good practice for the dog and it's...
Glad the two kids will be okay. We hunted there last weekend and ran into two different bears, one eating on an elk carcass right on the trail about 100 yards out when we bumped it and one massive bruin on the pack out. That area is always chock full of grizzlies. Hope the wrestlers make a...
Mmmm, any time I hear a developer say they plan on building a subdivision focused on first time home buyers and lower income families I immediately know they're full of it. They use that rhetoric to get thru planning and zoning then charge $450,000 for a 900 sq ft home where they can reach thru...
Sheridan has some good food options and breweries if you're headed thru. Luminous in Sheridan has some dang good beers, their seasonals right now are spot on. Several cafes down town for good breakfast.
As far as Rawlins, I spent six months there for work. If I never step foot in that town...
if my choices are rolling my truck or mending some broken fence for a rancher I'm going with the fence. Sounds like he was distracted reaching for another barley soda in the back seat instead of paying attention to the road.
Saw this story last week when it came out. Hope the judge throws the book at them. The only legal technicality I see is that the tourney official "took" their fish to open them up and show the lead weights. Hope that doesn't throw a wrench in the case. These guys need heavy fines at the minimum.
My buddy had his dog shot while doing a pack trip a couple falls ago. The dude shot it from a couple hundred yards away, immediately saw my friend and his dad on horseback a little down the slope from the dog and started to high tail it out of there. His dad rode him down on his horse, the dude...
