Every day I am on opposite ends of the spectrum - one day it's "there's no way this is a real person, nobody thinks like this unironically" to "there's no way someone would be this committed to a trolling attempt that is as fleshed out as this while staying this boring"
I had no idea the RI auctions had this much stuff. This is a dangerous place Brent
Yo @rwc101 You want a 12 gauge? Because the 20 in lot 2939 is exactly what I want and I might be dumb enough to bid for it. I figure it can't be that hard to resell that 12 anyways
Similar to rwc101 - I want a sxs, but my budget is not built for it. My other issue is that I want a 20 gauge for grouse. This has made my search noticeably harder than expected especially considering I don't want any chokes tighter than MOD. My criteria of 20 gauge + the convenience of...
If the most you would pay for that rifle in this market is 500 dollars, you will never find what you're looking for (if that was even possible anyways)
That's totally fair. I switched to TTSX's as well because I wanted the consistency, and I wanted to switch to copper anyways. I was just surprised you didn't have blood trails, but at the end of the day it's all anecdotal at the scale we are dealing with.
I don't have any beautiful rimfires like Brent or BAKPAKR, but I had to give it a shot today. First time out specifically for squirrels in a couple of years for me. Felt good to chase them again.
Looks like a fantastic day, always nice to see a report from IL too. I might have to stop chasing these damn deer around and pick up the 17 HMR to do some real hunting soon. It's been a while. Too long, really.
Rather than summer vs winter coats - isn't this probably a factor of when the elk expired? Like if you leave an elk overnight with guts in that has been dead 8+ hours, it will almost certainly be spoiled. But if you leave one overnight on a marginal hit and find it when it has been dead for only...
So far in terms of big game I have taken 8 whitetail bucks, and 2 mule deer bucks. I had always planned to hunt a variety of states but I didn't start until 2019 when I finished college.
Lower 48 moose (ideally Maine but I would never say no to any bull moose opportunity)
AK caribou
At this...
Right but you can literally grow zucchini in your back yard. Harvesting zucchini has a minimal impact on almost any other crop or anyone else's ability to grow zucchini. This is in contrast to the declining populations/habitat fragmentation that is happening and will continue to negatively...
No direct experience with a 336 or a BLR but as someone who hunts northern big woods and drools over lever action rifles often - I will probably go with a henry big boy steel when I finally commit. That is, unless I find a great older Marlin (either 1894 or 336). Like others have mentioned, no...
I usually judge these trip reports by seeing how much they make me want to go elk hunting again. By that metric, this is a fantastic story. I enjoyed the honesty and self-deprecation in these posts, most of my best hunting memories start with "get up you POS" as well. Congrats on the bull and...
If you go to Weyerhaeuser's site and search for permits you can see what is available pretty easily. They should have all the info you need - access points, specific parcels included with the permit, travel restrictions, etc. Not much left, only walk-in access for a few areas left. They have...
