Just putting the final coats on this one.
I started with a very use longbow I acquired as a kid. I've always had a trad bow kicking around. I started building them years ago. Trad bows are just more fun. Compounds are getting finicky. Tiny little screws everywhere and it seams like one piece or...

I Don't agree with Buzz on his views, but I completely respect his position on this issue!
If I had his experience with archery hunting I'd definitely have the same conclusions. He IS NOT WRONG based on his experiences. He cannot be wrong based on what he has personally seen.
That being...
I agree with you. I have an opinion that is not very popular on this topic.
I'm not a fan of the tag notching requirement. When you say that people automatically assume you're lazy and just want an easy recovery. I guarantee I put more effort into recovery than most. I've tracked an antelope...
Made by my friend. It's crazy to watch guys flake one of these out and think it's been done in about the same manner since some cave mane dropped a rock and realized it was sharp!
Different styles yes. But percussion and pressure flaking goes back a long ways...
A lot of western states are feeling the long winter. My coworker showed me a picture of a cow elk taken for depridation a few weeks ago. They walked up and shot them. The one cow didn't even stand up. No fat under the hide. The younger one had a mushy soft heart. They're starving to death. The...
Yep, she puked that up too! She's had some strokes from a heart defect. The part of her brain affected had to do with balance. So any motion is doubled up on how bad it hits her.
She gets dizzy pretty easy. Add boat motion on top of that and she very likely will lose her lunch.
Mainly just because I've never caught a shark. I’ve caught lots of rockfish. I'm not stuck on shark but it would be fun. Also going to try for halibut if I can find a place. I found 2 guides that would kayak your bait way out after shark. Neither replied back. We were going yo be staying on base...
I've looked into that. It's good advice. Do you know anyone with the gear to catch and haul up a shark from the pier? I'll pay. I just don't have the gear or experience to make it happen effectively or ethically.
So my wife and I are going to San Diego next week. She gets sea sick just looking at a boat. I've messaged all the shore based guides I can find online. No replies. Does anybody know a shore based guide that can put us on a shark?
However of those wounded the report states only 3 died. I'm not saying it's a good thing to wound but it brings up an important thought. How do you report a "wounded but unrecovered." Notched tag?
You could greatly change actual survival data if you expand the numbers. Instead of 14% wounded...
Not sure of age on this one. But I think you'll like it because you mentioned scars and such. I shot it 2 years ago. 4X2 and on the 2 side it's got 3 kickers by the ear. Fish and game listed it as a 4X5.
But look at the skull. The thing survived being bit in the head.
That one hole goes...
I can agree to a point. But I know my mother tries not to judge. Her M.S. was pretty hidden to most people for a long time. She knows what it's like to get an eye roll when you can walk to the front door but need a motorized cart once your inside.
You get a bigger one. If you're missing a leg, have M.S., A.L.S, lost a hand, or genuinely need a crossbow and still have the balls to try and kill an elk there's ZERO shame.
As I said at first that may be a valid concern. Voice it. The opposite end of the spectrum being do you really think a kid without full mobility should never experience elk hunting in the rut with his dad because somebody might squeeze through?
While I understand the concern many have here and some bring up some valid points I'm simultaneously appalled at others.
I remember hauling my mother up stairs in her wheelchair around town. The ramps at some places were worthless. They existed to be complaint. While some people just resigned...
I guess we could open it up to hunting with a .17 rimfire if that's what you guys want. As long as you have a tag and notch it who cares. Wound away.
Or... we could fix the issue of losing them in the first place. It's almost like using enough gun, placing it correctly, and knowing how to...
Absolutely. So first of all I like your post on shot placement it's pretty close to how I do it. What I'm referencing is the "Follow the front leg up halfway up the chest and shoot it." Placement method. I don't particularly like that one. I know it exists because that was mentioned in my...
You can find more on On-x than that balloon would ever get. Anybody who's driven through that area has better luck seeing "minuteman missile defense site." Signs than finding a tree to go piss behind.
The problem with "fixing" a point system is everybody has a different idea of what a point system is ment to accomplish. What's the goal of implementing a point system?
In my opinion all a point system SHOULD be is a safety net for unlucky random draws. That's it. An attempted to eveny...
I would love to burn mine but I can't afford to! When I started I could but can't now. With the tag price having gone up now I just buy them and hope some year I can actually apply for a tag... I HATE being that guy but I don't have a choice right now.
