My son claims he will never fire the 460, but he doesn't even blink with a 44 magnum in a CVA scout. I think he will be ready before long, but I will let him figure it out on his own. -

44 mag (12" barrel) that a friend of mine owns with my 460xvr (8 3/8" barrel) just below. Completely different animals. -
2024 dreams and plans

New guy from Ohio
Whitetail hunter for a few years now, looking to learn more and add some small game to my travels. Public land hunter currently, looking for useful land in NE Ohio sucks. Once my kids graduate, I will have a bigger acceptable area and budget to find what I want permanently. -

Do we need wildlife?
I really hope there is no seriousness in this. The "circle of life" includes everything living. Bugs, coyotes, deer, trees. Trees clean the air we breathe. The wildlife that transfer seeds and fertilizer for new plant life are fully necessary. Without wildlife, we have no trees and no oxygen...- Pewpew82

I can tell you, if you decide to hunt Ohio for whitetail during our short gun season, you will definitely need a straight walled cartridge larger than .357 magnum, up to and including .50. Did you shoot your first deer with open sights?
I shot a doe a few years ago, my first. I started hunting in my 30's, shot her with a 12ga with bead sight. Honestly a bad shot since she was moving and I was full of adrenaline, but it was quick for her.- Pewpew82
