If you have plenty of magazines, get another 10-22. They're awfully tough to beat. But I did pick up a sweet CZ 572 American bolt action 22. The thing is a shooter. I'm shooting quarter sized groups at 100 yds with 7 shots.

I'd STRONLY recommend trekking poles. They help me more going down than up but I won't hunt without them. Mine are el cheapo's from Walmart and they've held up 3 years. For the upgraded cork handles at $16.99, that's a decent investment. lol
I'm going to start out this season. I picked up my first lever... A Win M64 in 30-30. I can't see open sights very well so I had to stick a peep on there. But, it shoots "minute of deer" with them. 1.5" high at 100 yards with 2" groups. 150gr factory Winchester ammo.
I haven't had any problems with function.
They don't fit me very well. So, I don't get the accuracy that most seem to think they have. The mags are crap, and the same action size for every cartridge bothers me. When they were $600 they were a decent buy. But now that they're $1000 they do...
