Maybe you could get in touch with Zelensky and ask for some money back? Maybe your brother qualifies for the $750 for groceries? That sounds right around the price tag for a bull elk license....
In all honesty, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. We have friend that were displaced as well...
I use the Outdoor Research Echo baselayers through the summer and early season. I don't think there is anything lighter. It does get stinky pretty quickly, however. I'm not sure any synthetics combat stink well.
Looks pretty nice! I was camped down in that same area with the family this past weekend and saw the fire pop up over the ridge and watched the helicopter come in. Sounds like they made quick work of it. Congrats on a nice bull!
That was interesting to hear the moderator bring up. Of course, Vance had no real answer for them other than there are a lot of federal lands that are just doing nothing or something to that effect.
For those of you who can't wait til 10/6 for Randy's Podcast and like to listen to wonky policy/law stuff, check out the Your Mountain podcast episode on this topic. I'm not sure their website is up to date, but you can listen to it on spotify. Gives a good perspective on the legal angle the...
It is a good question. Before I started dialing, I would sight in zeroed at 200. My thinking was that most of my shots were in that range (150-250 yards), so that is where I wanted to be exact. When you start zeroing much further, your height at above zero at, say 150 yards, can be pretty high...
One of the big things a partner helps with is holding legs so you can focus on cutting. I bring paracord and try to tie legs off to trees so they don't keep flopping around. Since you'll be on the elk refuge you can call Tag and Drag. I'd give them a call before you hunt to make sure they can...
Excited to watch this one. He's got to be tough as nails to take on elk hunting with all the health issues going on. I wouldn't blame anyone for throwing in the towel, but great to see him still trucking along!!
My Vanguard did the same thing, although other rifles have as well. I shoot solely all copper ammo. What has worked for me is getting the carbon fouling out and then leaving a coat of hoppes in it for a few hours and giving it a scrub. Repeat as necessary and it can take a few days. Also, JB non...
When I haven't had a successful hunitng season, I just take down my euro mounts and put them in the bed of my truck for everyone to see, just cover up the skull in a bloody game bag.
Fantastic, Kevin and his team have changed the game in migration/habitat research and it is always enjoyable to hear him speak about mule deer. Looking forward to listening
Same, I was 14 and lived 25 miles from Manhattan. Most kids in my school had parents who worked in NYC and some in the towers. I remember they kept getting called to the principals office to let them know that their parents were OK. A few parents were not OK, however. I remember driving up to...
I'm a new archery hunter/shooter and have a Bear Adapt. I have nothing to compare it to, but I like it. It is kinda loud/has some vibration and not the fastest bow in the world but it is solid. I wouldn't get the ready to hunt one as it comes with some cheap parts. I'd just get the bow and build...
I can't really help, but BHA had a pretty good presence in that area for awhile. I'm not sure if that is still the case, but I'd look into attending some of their events if they have any in the area.
I have a Mesa in 7mm Rem Mag and it has been solid. Honestly, given the inconsistent reviews Christensen gets I'd rather pick one up used that has been tested and you know shoots well.
When they spook at your feet just keep an eye on where they land. Usually they won't go far and will be ten feet up in a conifer tree. They feel safer there, so it is easier to get a shot.
