Don’t bash it until you try it. I can attest that my 2020 Forester can go a lot of places my 3/4 ton diesel cannot, and I can get to just about anywhere a typical 4x4 side by side can go. The right tires and gear make a huge difference. I got to find out this year due to crazy diesel prices...
I apologize if there is a thread elsewhere, but I did search and could not find. Anywho, has anyone read Canada bill c-21, specifically the December amendment? 300 pages of banned guns proposed. Pretty disturbing. I looked through the whole list, and I’d suspect many of our Canadian cousins...
I’ve learned that 1 ton dually’s do quite a bit better for that set up. That’s a lot of weight for a 3/4, unless it’s diesel and has a beefed up suspension.
Seems like an online survey could just go to all tag holders. I think Colorado sends to everyone now. I’ve filled out a few. What I don’t get, is how these states can have lottery systems and preference point systems, but can’t get online surveys to everyone.
Yes. This stuff is exactly what is coming. In CA, no mountain lions or bobcats may be hunted, and there has never been a shortage either. That’s already the law. CO, NM, and AZ are next. Expect restricted hunting and gun laws coming to a blue state near you.
The thought of needing pack boots makes my feet cold. If I'm in that situation, there's a good chance I'm already real pissed off and heading back to camp anyway. If I can't get it done with lightly insulated hiking boots and gaiters, then I'm in the wrong damn place.
Hell ya, it's a favorite camp lunch, especially with some roast beef in there. I don't eat it at home ever, but in camp for lunch after I wandered around spooking deer n elk all morning or scaring trout, absolutely! White bread, Kraft American singles, 3 slices of roast beef deli meat, with...
Too bad they won't put them back into Ca. We have more wilderness than any of the lower 48, except I'm not sure exactly what they would eat. The state has done a pretty good job of wiping out the mule deer, salmon and sheep populations with policies and practices, so this could be the answer...
I'm right behind you by a couple years (maybe) and I'm already starting to put the rough outline together on what I want to do. The woke workplace thing is just horse crap, and I'm not buying into it. CA is not a good place to live anymore, with the exception of good offshore fishing, and I...
Have not tried the sweet pork n rice from Peak, but will get a a couple for this year. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I still have a couple of the Peak Breakfast Skillets left. I've liked them in past years, so not sure what happened this year. Could be me.
I was going to start a thread on best freeze dried meals eaten from this year at hunting camp, but recalled this thread and figured it could use a revival. This was the first year I was in camp completely by myself, so being the lazy ass I am, I relied on freeze dried for 1/2 of my meals...
