I am in the same boat. Turned 37 this year, I feel like I have a solid 20 years left of quality DIY type hunting if I treat myself fairly. I will hunt moose.... one way or another. I'd love to get both an Alaskan/Yukon and a Shiras on the wall. I know the smaller doober will require plenty of...
Sounds like a great time, best of luck to you all!
Don't let the stories flow to much, or the barley pops will take over and you'll be a bit dehydrated...
I have one, used it a lot. Make/model dosent really matter as store bought ones are flimsy...
Couple suggestions:
If you own a welder, build one yourself.
Bunge cords and ratchet straps are a god send on these things.
Tarps, even doubled up water finds it way thru.
If you use it on a vehicle...
Floor drains, counter height power outlets, 220v, bathroom plumbing, extra studs for mounts, air lines, lights (more lights). All been discussed.
Over head storage, insulated garage doors also, even drains at the doors. Work bench that moves (even one long the wall that folds flat against it)...
In before thread lock/delete...
I suggest that happens now...
By making such thread you now provide google with another choice for people who google to find said debate and that leads to a hunting forum....
now people see hunters as flag haters...
more fuel for fire...
etc...
delete this...
You may not like my answer, but you posted so get to see it. This is also just as bad in my opinion (which we all know about peoples opinion's), if you are an advocate for the land/national forest, etc you should care as much about our public lands and hunting. If losing a days hunt is worth...
I run them when legal, 90% of the time it's because I juts love to see the animals. 10% to see if the area is worth hunting because 3-4 hr drive one way is a decent jaunt just to scout, cameras allow you to see a meadow, crossing etc for a long time and get a decent idea if it is worth while...
I wear a hat and vest/jacket here in Utah. I cannot say about other, but anything with the words Mossback in or near it I just assume is wrong and un ethical...
the extra weight of a bipod isn't worth it when you have so much available for you already. If you use a frame pack, they are typically tall enough for seated/kneeling positions. If you are already using trekking poles, there is a connector you can buy that turns them into shooting sticks. as...
I don't have anything to offer except, did you look at the landowner section of the WY G&F site? I know in the past Farmer Bill would say he had a herd of 'Lopes, in his pivot's he wanted taken care off. Forget where to look, but the info was all on the website, also doe tags are OTC if I...
wood>propane>elec...
I'm a novice at smoking, but I talked to a local store here and that is what they recommend. Also not to use one with glass doors, as it looses more heat thru glass than a solid metal door.
I agree with about 90% of al of this. Something that is touched but not discussed is we all believe we are "dedicated"... Well prove it, this is the time. I feel if MT wants to hand out Griz tags, I'm down to apply... I think the state needs to make the effort to the animal itself also. You want...
Pretty sure Big Fin (the man, the myth, the legend, Randy Newberg) said/posted he would be doing a YouTube video about this subject soon. I would subscribe to his channel and keep the email inbox refreshed.
I've been wrong before, but I think he said that in the onXmaps post.
Here is my horror story. My meniscus actually wasn't torn, just grew wrong! My Doc told me it acted like it was torn tho. I had the right knee scoped/repaired Dec 15th, 2016, left knee done Feb 23rd 2017. I am still in physical Therapy 2x a week for about 2 hrs each session. I am doing...
I am in the same retirement DoD pool. Sept 2018 I will be done with active duty and my 20 year hitch. At a ripe old age of 38, I will find another job, dunno what really! Right now my wife just finished her BA in HR/Business Admin and we live in Utah till I retire. If she finds a good enough job...
