Metal Detectors for finding shot in upland birds

I actually metal detect as a hobby. I have used both types of pin pointers meaning a cheap one and a more expensive one. I will tell you the more expensive pin pointer picks up sound all the way up the sides The cheap one you have to be touching the metal directly on the end.

    Crops and their Contents

Ha, I like these pics. I thought I was the only weirdo that enjoyed digging through bird crops. Apparently not. To make it weirder, I killed some pheasants last week in S. Dakota, gutted and froze the birds, brought them home to Oklahoma and when I skinned them I took the sunflower seeds out of...

    Pups first wild bird

I have been training Jasmine since she was a puppy. Training her for primarily waterfowl hunting. However her first real hunting was several days in S. Dakota chasing roosters. She retrieved 9 roosters and two huns. Me, Jasmine, and the 20 gauge. Shot TSS handloads. Looking forward to some duck...

    Tailgate Pics

Tailgate has seen better days but this was just after a morning hunt with just me and my dog. S. Dakota is a long ways from Oklahoma. Been training my dog from a puppy, this is her first year.

    Gallatin Canyon Wall Tent Homicide

Crazy world, so sad. About a month ago my wife and I went to a retired football field with my black lab for training. I left my wife and dog in the truck while I set up some bumpers for retrieving drills. I was about 150 yards from my truck when a man across the road about 150 yards the other...

    Why coyotes need managed

The point of my post was to share what I thought was a very cool moment in nature that my trail camera captured. Not necessarily a scientific debate. However, shortage of deer or not I still root for the deer.

This thread has given me an inferiority complex. Tremendous animals posted. Here's a little contribution from me. Can't seem to find all my tailgate pics. I will start off with a pic of my adopted son on an Arby's run.

    Druggies

Took my boy down to the river to try and catch some catfish. While I was setting up Drake was exploring around the sandbar. He found a plastic bottle and was shaking it around. The rattling sound caused him to open it up and out pops a used syringe. We didn't catch any this day but have caught...
