The money interests will be coming out in force to testify against even 75/25. We will hear about all the cash to rural Colorado, billions and billions, cpw budgets, public lands belong to all, and the poor outfitters grossing only 200k a year who just can't make the payments on their new...
Hey Facebook, thats the same tool CPW used to shut down 80/81. Lets ask anyone, whether they hunt or not, if we should limit hunting in a specific area. Great Idea. Send it in, they'll take it as fact.
Well, I testified today, let me know if you take any issue with it. After listening to that conversation, I have no confidence a wise decision is on the horizon. We are all screwed.
I don't think Cam has ever spoken at a CBA banquet, we did have Derek Wolfe though. If you care to lodge an in person complaint with him - go for it, he is 6'5" and from a broken home. good luck.
umm, 1970, or was it 1969. or maybe it was when we showed up at every CPW meeting since then?
Got your own survey with 3,000 bowhunter responses? Is Biden Hunter and Anglers representing bowhunters?
Yea, I heard that, totally odd. Ill be calling Henry and Lane on that one. Completely weird.
Update: I just spoke to Henry, the chairman, that appears to have been a statement in error, under heat of the moment. I'll give him grace on that one, no one is perfect.
The conclusion of that whole...
That data can be somewhat deceiving though because over the years OTC archery continues to be limited, We lost the whole SW region, E-16, 80/81, and now grand mesa units. 80/81 after the draw was still 65% nonresident. When the SW went limited, I think the quota was 6,000 limited archery tags...
The E-16 herd has gone from 4600 elk to a projected 8600 this coming year. I have the spreadsheets from then CPW senior Biologist Brad Petch detailing maybe a couple decades of quotas and harvest. We manage by DAU's, not drainages.
You can believe the CNN/TRCP/BHA/KRW narrative being pushed...
I believe Brandons CORA data includes 2022. His includes list B cow tag data which CPW likes to include to skew the data.
This is the data Lane Walter pulled.
I can give you data from 10 years ago up until the BGSS go round, but what's the point? I have the data, but not the time.
If the...
Got an issue with that? I post the same facts from the CPW site on the CBA page. Its the same data.
Take a look in the mirror bud, you said, "its about the resource", but know nothing about participation rates or the resource. That's embarrassing and sad.
Its like you just got out of a Biden...
I really don't have alot of time to regurgitate facts here, but its out there. I put most of it on FB or bowsite. Try the CBA stance thread on bowsite. CBA facebook page, or the Colorado resident hunters FB page. At least there, no one is hiding behind a handle with no name.
"For the sake of...
Did you consider the facts before making that stupid statement?
Since 2014, residents down 20%, nonresidents up 250% in gm units.
Since the sw went limited adding thousands of limited archery tags, the number of otc archery hunters is still about 35,000. Nonresidents now exceed residents. All...
No mention of declining calf ratios? I guess that only mattered when removing Archery OTC was on the table.
Just how do you grow population when calf recruitment is low? I guess the same way they have nearly doubled the pop in eagle and Pitkin counties, by slashing cow tags to zero.
Then...
Commissioners and CPW staff,
I am writing today to submit public input on the agenda topic of big game license distribution and allocation between residents and nonresidents for your Nov. meeting. I am writing on my own behalf but I have been a sportsperson rep for decades in CPW working...
I'm signed up to zoom in my testimony. Last day to sign up is tomorrow.
Email on the way tomorow, was waiting for election results. Thanks to redistricting, looks like any legislation may need a new sponsor. At least 4 more years of this, year 5 my kids graduate, and I can move.
