I wish you the best Durango Mike, and I think you are wise to go for the adventure while you can. I'm not quite there with you in age but I'm working on it!
I experienced some good muzzleloader hunts in 66 on landowner tags about 10 years ago and I would love to make that early rifle hunt in 76...
I used my brand new 10x14' deluxe on a recent moose hunt in NW Montana. It took on a lot of snow and some wind but nothing drastic. I got the footprint for it and also used a 10x14' tarp inside to make cleanup a breeze. I also used a 3x5' mat near my cot inside. A little buddy heater only for...
I have a like new in the box Winchester Model 70 SS Extreme Weather bolt action rifle chambered in 30.06 for sale. The rifle has been fired exactly 9 times on my backyard shooting range. It has never been hunted or even hauled anywhere other than home in the box. I can’t find a flaw on it. This...
I have for sale a like new pair of Simms G4 Pro Waders in size MK
These are the stocking foot version in a men’s size medium king. They were only used one time. They were then gently hand washed and hang dried. These are as close to new as you can expect to find and I will guarantee them to be...
Welcome to HuntTalk. I am about your age and I have also collected quite a few points, especially when I was working in Africa and got the safari bug really bad.
I travel all over for work and play, but I spend quite a bit of time in west Texas myself. I'm interested to know where you're...
Well, I've been in the points running from the gitgo, having applied the first year they were available and every year since, and I finally hit a tag. I also put in for sheep and goat but perhaps they will come later.
I hunted moose successfully in Idaho back in 2008 so I have a bit of...
I hadn't even thought to check until I logged on here and saw this thread... here is what I found:
Successful
2020 Moose License
– 102-50 was your 1st choice
So, it looks like I am in for some research. I just now found this out, so I am still in a bit of shock that I drew the tag.
Hey fellas,
I hail from Mississippi but I get around out west quite a bit on big game hunts, etc. I have successfully DIY hunted goats on 3 different occasions over the past 8 years and have a decent idea of how to go about it, but I have zero information on the unit that I have drawn. I'm good...
It doesn't take much to kill a pronghorn, but using a fast and heavy for caliber bullet often helps with long distance shots in the wind.
It also doesn't take much to ruin a cape on one.
Congrats on the tag k&c!
I'll be going into the draw with 19 points next year and will likely try to cash in on unit 76 myself.
I'm interested to hear more about your experience.
Jeff
I went in 2011 and enjoyed it. It was a tough hunt then and I shot a nice cow.
Little did I know that I’d soon go to work in Africa and shoot a pile of huge bulls in 3 different countries.
Good luck on your hunt!
Yeah, that’s why I said to search there for mor information....
I own every possible configuration of the LBO-vestibule, connecting tarp, etc and can give you my opinion, but there’s tons of guys experience shared on that site.
See for yourself.
In the last few years I’ve read a lot about the history of our country, especially concerning the struggle between the white and red man during the settling of the west, and this movie touches on a small window of that period in a serious and fairly factual manner. If this interests you, go see...
I spoke with Bossie about this today and he said he is eager to do this hunt and has the place in mind for it. It’s a property that I hunted for klipspringer with him, and they were very abundant there. It’s a rocky, mountainous area and leopard are also present, along with a variety of other...
