Definitely a buy situation, but then again with money in a hand and room in the safe it’s almost always a buy situation if you truly have the free cash. It’s not like you’ll lose all your money anyways, even if you decide you don’t like it in the next year or two you can get most of your $...
Do more research if you’re still asking where deer will be in 3rd season. Research people asking about specific units while you’re at it. Not trying to be rude, but nobody will give you specifics on an open forum (hopefully), especially when you have just a couple posts over the last 7 years...
We had beans and cornbread almost every Wednesday night as a kid. Never heard it called anything but beans and cornbread though. Still one of my favorite meals.
Nothing wrong with a 7mm-08. Relatively mild recoil, kills great. My family has stacked up a bunch of deer and hogs with 7-08. Ammo can be a little sparse sometimes so if you’re not a hand-loader .308 does the same thing but ammo always available just about everywhere.
I’m from Texas…we drink beers in the morning and shoot deers under the feeder in the afternoon. Out the window. With a crossbow.
But, if I can’t do that then I much prefer the morning for all species. I’ve had about equal success morning and evening though.
Depends on the kid. I killed my first deer at 8, and have been all about hunting ever since. My Brothers both killed their first deer around 10 and have no real interest in hunting.
My son killed his first deer at 6, he’ll be 14 next week and is about as consumed by hunting as anyone has...
I’m in the same boat - I used to track/apply/remind a bunch of people, I finally quit a couple of years ago and just handle apps for my wife, kids and Dad. I’m in the camp of if someone won’t figure out the app process and take a few minutes to take care of it on their own then they don’t need...
The unit is high elevation on the east side, and drops off as you go west. The western part of the unit is where the big mountains transition to sage brush hills. Elk live there, and the orange army will be marching in force. It can get real cold, and there is always the potential for snow.
I got sticker shock when shopping for “slightly used” vehicles for my daughter last month. I came to a similar conclusion and just said to heck with it and bought her a new one.
This is the factory set up (breech plug), I put a different breech plug in mine to handle heavy charges of BH209. When scoped it can turn in 5 inch groups at 400 yards - if it’s not to windy.
I’ve got one, it shoots great. I put a trigger tech trigger in it and a breech plug upgrade from arrowhead rifles, and a muzzle brake. Overall I’ve been happy with it. It has only ever been fired at an animal one time, two weeks ago when my daughter killed a buck in Colorado with it.
Nastiest food on earth!! I’m a weirdo I guess and have always hated peanut butter. my wife and kids are peanut butter connoisseurs, sometimes I have to go outside to get fresh air if they’re having that vile concoction, but they seem to prefer Jif. 🤢
How steep does a mountain have to be before you just say “nope”. Screen shots below are of some steep areas I’ve hunted, one area I went up with my teenaged daughter week before last in her muzzleloader hunt. She was asking how much steeper of a hill can you actually hunt? My response...
