    February - Muskrat month

I think the dog caught the rats lol. All kidding aside, raptors steal lot of trapped critters. While shed hunting I seen a horned owl get a rat mid morning.

Lighting has a funny way of playing tricks on the eyes. One way the antler blends in the other it's silhouette is seen.

    Judging Pronghorn

Other than the mass judgement I would've automatically said 15 + inches and decent prongs. I've always first judged an antelopes horns in compairison to their ears. Where you loose on an antelope is mass above the prong.

    Dillon, MT Poacher sentenced

The problem here with Foster's is they were poaching a decade before FWP finaly woke up. It takes poacher and to catch a poacher and in this was case it a little to late. I keep telling are local wardens but for some reason but it's like who cares. Point in case. Durring the last week of the...

    MT Tendoys Bighorn depopulation proposal

If we're talking about.the Tendoys west of Dell and Lima there are some domestic sheep but their miles away but still could have been in contact with the wild sheep. Hanson livestock usually runs their sheep on the Medicine Lodge side towards Morison Lake. I'm not sure if Hanson still have any...

Though not politically convenient for some...

When we finally wake up and realize the stockgrowers are calling the shots on how elk are managed and they them selves have the FWP in their hind pockets. Think about it they drive and do as they please on public land and being that game animals are on their private land they think they can sell...

    Archery Pronghorn

Blind hunting is a lot like tree stand hunting, you are limited to one area but it can be productive it just means you have to be really patient and put in a lot of time in one spot. Spot and stock lets you be more mobile and let's you cover a lot of ground. I like spot and stock using a decoy...

    Coyote/Wolf Derby Canceled?

I'll add this article. one of the biggest promoters of banning predator derbys is Stephany Seay from the buffalo field campaign. Maybe some think this means nothing but these people will use any angle to eliminate the killing of all predators...

Which 300 for all NA big game?

You don't hear many people talk about the 300 H&H. I have my dads and there is nothing it won't bring down. I believe Bodington hunted dangerous game in Africa with one. When they first came they were called the super thirty and was one of the first thousand yard guns. What I like about this...

    Revise MT Tagging law

Rob G says>> Another option would be to require the tag be validated upon verifying the animal is dead. I've seen this happen a couple times where the tag gets punched out and during the excitement the stuned animal runs off, it's not funny but it happens. I think if the animal is cut in...

What about crossbows in Montana's archery season?

We have already went through the growing pains of recurve/ long bow versus compound bow. It will be a long battle between purist and.compound bow shooters that it's not fair or ethical. It's the same as shooting a rife long range. Big Fin says: crossbows are aloud during the general season in...

    Coyote/Wolf Derby Canceled?

Shoots-Strait being you are so close to the big hole valley have you ever stopped in Wisdom or Wise River and see the pictures of the snow plains with the coyotes the old timers shot, it's prety impressive. The snow plain was a western version of an air boat. They don't use them any more but...

    Coyote/Wolf Derby Canceled?

This whole thing of banning predator contest didn't happen over night. I believe California was the first and Colorado is not far behind and Arizona is next. After doing some snooping around it looks like some of are own ranks are bringing upon the rest of us. This is not the only web site but...
