My roughtech ember is only 18"?!?!

    Hornady 7 PRC a Lie?

I spent way too much rebarrelling a Tikka to a 20" 7 PRC and have been a bit disappointed in factory Hornady velocities. HOWEVER, I think Hornady just needs to get it's $h1t together and the cartridge itself will deliver. My experience mirrors many others. Early lots of factory Hornady 7 PRC...

Silencerco Scythe Ti vs Banish Backcountry Suppressor

They process so many Form 4's that they have a backlog of about a month from the time they take your money. Even though they had my prints, photo, etc. I still had to wait about a month and a half until I officially submitted to the ATF. Similarly, they add 1-2 months on the backend, since they...

Silencerco Scythe Ti vs Banish Backcountry Suppressor

I'm waiting on my 3rd and 4th Silencer Central suppressors, and will NOT be doing business with them again (they had my photos/prints and it was the easy button). The only reason to go with them is if they have you on file and you like the monthly payment option. They add at least two months to...

    Happy 311 day

6.5 Creedmoor shooters unite! :ROFLMAO: I grew up listening to them when I moved to Omaha in 3rd grade. One of my best friend's older brother was friends with SA Martinez - had a picture of them at his house leaning on his 1969 Boss 302.

    30-06 Recommendations

I’ve shot a 300WM suppressed on 1/2x28. Plenty strong unless you’re planning on baffle strikes.

Order a Tikka from Unknown Munitions. They will thread it and put it in the box for you.

    OnX going away?

Wow, I'd be a great guide if I had everyone in world's OnX data.

    OnX going away?

99% of hunters use OnX. We all enter in our most private and hard earned honeyholes for them to monetize in any way they see fit (*as long as they anonymize the data). I bet they want to acquire or copy features from #2 on the list and establish a monopoly on the market, selling our honeyholes...

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

What premium bullets? TMK's, ELD-X and ELD-M are effective killers. High-weight-retention premium bullets don't thrash insides as well. This dead horse will continue to get beat upon until we all admit it was killed with a 223 in the first place :ROFLMAO:

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

Which one is dead-er? Bullet Selection + appropriate impact velocity trump headstamp. Those 77gr TMK's are just insanely effective, didn't believe it until I saw it.

    6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC Enough/Effective for Elk?

Couldn't agree more. Really bad advice on this thread. Obviously a bunch of steroid abusing meatheads here pushing magnum cartridges. OP - go get yourself a 6mm Creeedmoor and kill Elk out past 800yds. These 6.5mm bullets are simply too devastating. I've got a 22 Creedmoor build in the works...

    .22 silencer

Don't be like me and wait a year for your first 22LR suppressor and then wish you had just ordered a do-it-all 30 cal can for the really loud rifles. By all means get a nice 22 can, but that should be in addition to a nice hunting weight 30 cal can.

Most definitive way to determine scope failure

You can perform a box test if you strap the rifle/scope down. I assume rings and base were torqued to spec? I loved my VX6HD, but this is what I was afraid of so I sold it off for Nightforce. I suggest you do the same. Or Trijicon. The new Maven RS1.2's are looking fairly reliable so far. I...

    .243 Winchester

If you really love your kids... ...gunzonedeals.com (seems scammy but is legit) has some blowout pricing on Tikkas. I just ordered a stainless T3X in 243 with 1:8 twist for $665 shipped (with the Tikka $75 rebate). The blued versions are about $100 cheaper, and they might even have a compact...

    NM Female/Immature Barbary sheep

My buddy and I doubled up on a small herd of ewes. The key was that we used suppressors. After my (humblebrag) one shot kill at ~575 yds, the herd actually ran towards us...

    Swarovski NL pure

Depends totally on the terrain. If you're glassing a mile out, 12's. Dense timber? 8's. 10's in the middle. Gotta buy them all I guess, plus the BTX.

    USAA for Home and auto?

Me too. I had them for everything (home x 3, autos x 5) and was going to use them for a mortgage on a rental property. $350 application fee and I was pre-approved. I provided all the info to match what I told them. 1 week before CLOSING they pulled the rug on me and gave me a non-answer as to...

    Best rifle options youth hunters

My sons used the Tikka in an XLR Element Mag chassis. I have two so what I found worked best was to use the TR-2 adjustable buttstock without the folder and adjusted nearly all the way short. My kids are 80-95lbs sopping wet also. My youngest preferred the compact stock however. I think that...

    Best rifle options youth hunters

Smallest caliber legally allowed in a Tikka T3X compact, with the right bullet. 223 Rem shooting Black Hills 5.56 TMK factory ammo out my Tikka - close to 600yds. Zero felt recoil and ridiculously easy to shoot. Went 5 yds and piled up.
