What premium bullets? TMK's, ELD-X and ELD-M are effective killers. High-weight-retention premium bullets don't thrash insides as well. This dead horse will continue to get beat upon until we all admit it was killed with a 223 in the first place :ROFLMAO: -

Which one is dead-er? Bullet Selection + appropriate impact velocity trump headstamp. Those 77gr TMK's are just insanely effective, didn't believe it until I saw it. -

Couldn't agree more. Really bad advice on this thread. Obviously a bunch of steroid abusing meatheads here pushing magnum cartridges. OP - go get yourself a 6mm Creeedmoor and kill Elk out past 800yds. These 6.5mm bullets are simply too devastating. I've got a 22 Creedmoor build in the works... -

Don't be like me and wait a year for your first 22LR suppressor and then wish you had just ordered a do-it-all 30 cal can for the really loud rifles. By all means get a nice 22 can, but that should be in addition to a nice hunting weight 30 cal can. -

Most definitive way to determine scope failure

Smallest caliber legally allowed in a Tikka T3X compact, with the right bullet. 223 Rem shooting Black Hills 5.56 TMK factory ammo out my Tikka - close to 600yds. Zero felt recoil and ridiculously easy to shoot. Went 5 yds and piled up.
