That's a miss... I have 100 unfired lapua cases for my .308 that I'm trying to decide what to put it. I am floored at how much time they take prepping the cases before shipping... I'm wondering if these might filled with 190Gr ABLR's sitting on top of a bunch of Varget...
I used to sell digital cameras. Biggest tip I can give, is after zooming make sure to use the half press for autofocus before just taking the picture. Press the button to take the picture halfway and the camera will autofocus (as long as the autofocus is on) then make a faint beep when it's...
I have a good friend who has taken a couple really nice bulls with a 7 1/2" Barrel Freedom arms Model 83 in .454 Casull. I see no reason that a .44 Mag carbine wouldn't be more than enough at reasonable ranges.
If you want to get into a DLSR, I would suggest either Canon or Nikon. I have a Canon T2i. It's a few years old, but still more of a camera than I know how to use. It's an entry level Canon DLSR, and I've been quite happy with it. It was under $1K new for body and lens. I know there are...
Guys,
Can we please end the talk of headshots? We each have our chosen shot placement and this doesn't seem the time or place to argue this topic......
Both MOA and MIL can be used to calculate distance to target based on height and space on reticule. 1 MIL is an angular equilivent of 1/1000 the distance to target. I.E. 1 yard @ 1000 yds. .5yds @ 500 yds. 1/10yd (3.6") at 100yds.
MOA= Minute of Angle. It represents 1/60 of one degree. It...
They are both Angular measurements that can do the same things. Just make sure. If you get a Mil Reticule, GET .1MIL TURRETS!! Don't Mix MOA's and MIL's Do one or the other.
I shoot MOA reticules, that being said... There are probably double the options available in Mil vs MOA. Especially...
***Disclaimer*** The following post contains my opinions, and only my opinions. It is not meant to dictate your style of hunting and no personal attacks are meant, just to inform the OP of opinions as asked...
Let me start by saying, I really enjoy long range shooting at targets. I'm still...
Jims,
I've had my eye on one of these for a while. Couple quick questions... Do you load for it? And, What bullet weights does it like? Only reason I ask is because Sako uses a slower twist than I would have expected... Wondering how they do with Heavy bullets...
This is an 8mm 200Gr Nosler Accubond I recovered out of a Mule Deer taken at 134 yds. Approx 2640fps impact velocity. This bullet entered the neck, penetrated completely through 3 vertibrae, and came to rest in the fatty tissue between the paunch and the hind quarter. Weight retention was...
Our Family has shot .30 Cal 180 Gr Partitions out of Everything from .308's to .30-06's to .300WSM's for well over two decades. Put them in the right spot and critters die. Flat out. I have only seen one instance in all my years of hunting where a bullet that didn't exit couldn't be...
Ya know... I've never looked at a beachball before and thought "If I cut that in half and put a hole in the top, that would meet all requirements for clothing"
Anyone else notice the sub-par commercials? Thank you Nationwide for wasting your "hard earned" advertising budget on two truly...
I agree with others on here. Glass and coatings will have more to do with apparent brightness than objective will. I hunted a few years with Leupold VX-II's an the newer VX-2's. I had one situation that limited me to waiting until about 5 minutes after legal shooting light to be comfortable...
Hmmm... If the treaty truly is expired... Throw 'em in Jail. Call me a hater or a bigot if you want, Laws are Laws and should be administered equally regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, political standing, or wealth. I don't care who you are or what expired agreements you might want to try...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in AK, I believe that for subsistence tags, if Bulls/bucks are harvested the skull plate must be broken before the animal can be transported, so that "trophies" cannot be taken from subsistence hunts... There's certainly something to be said for that.
The whole...
There's certainly something to be said for this!! That seems a much better use of the funds than what I would have done.........
Good call, Sir! Good call!
