Welcome from your neighbor in NC.
Be careful. I joined 10 years ago with an interest in hunting anywhere on the left side of the big river, thinking that it would never happen. This Sept will be my 5th elk hunt in MT as a result. All strictly from reading and encouragement from this site...
Nice trout!
My wife and I were there last week, which was my wife's first time in MT/WY or Yellowstone, and we had a great time!
I'm glad to see that you guys had a great time too!
I'm always anticipating Sept in Montana, and the rememberence of past hunts just adds fuel to that fire. Also always planning and training for future marathons. Love running and hunting elk!
Agree! Now, I always eat at Calf-A after my elk hunt, so it may be due to eating Mountain House for two weeks, but all I know is that at that moment, they have the world's best cheeseburger! 🙄
Don't let the facade throw you off!
I'll be flying into Bozeman Airport Monday a week. I'll need to get a hotel around Bozeman (Belgrade) just for one night due to a late flight before driving to Gardiner. I usually steer clear of airport area hotels because they tend to be around some rough areas. Is that the case there too...
This helps me on my annual trip to MT, but it isn't specifically for that trip, but to just stay in shape, 51 years old.
Run 9 miles before work 5 days a week, with a long run (13-17 miles) on Sunday morning. Run two marathons a year.
After work:
3 sets of 10 chin-ups
3 sets of 60 push-ups
3...
With the new MT law, allowing those to be kept, I wonder if they'll let you swing by and pick it up for the Randy Room? You were the one who found and transported it over.

I didn't see anything posted on this, so I hope it's not a repeat.
I understand the mindset of the MT law against removing bighorn deadheads, but I am glad to see that it is now legal to pick them up under certain instances. I've never...
My wife!
More specifically, when the distance between her and I are the greatest, so has my luck been. She stays home in NC, I drive 2400 miles to MT...BINGO!
I turned my MT general elk in a few years ago after having a carotid artery dissection, which could have ended in a stroke, or worse. I sent MT DNR a letter from my physician with a copy of my CT scan and I ended up getting, I think, 80% back.
Most guys running around the mountains blasting away on a bugle tube, you'll know because it's obvious. But sometimes you'll be fooled. And likewise, you'll swear another nut was blowing a tube and sounds horrible, then realize it's a bull. Same as turkeys.
As for you worrying about your...
I'd chance NOT killing a bull during archery season in Sept, just to listening to endless bugling, than wait until I can take a rifle later. But, that's just me.
I've never had any issues with Campfire. I have had issues with FedEx. My neighbors seem to get MY packages as often as I do. Luckily they have contacted me, or brought them by my house, and I didn't even know them. Anyway, I now have everything shipped to my work, which I have everything...
Now that my wife and I now are enjoying an empty nest, we've started traveling alot over the last few years. With us both getting 5+ weeks a year for vacation, we can go to a few places during non hunting months.
Running is another hobby of mine. I log a decent amount of miles every week...
My thoughts and opinions are that I love elk hunting in MT! I've been going since '14, started out with killing a P&Y bull of the first full day and have been hooked every since! The cost of the NR tag is a little steep, but no one is making me pull out the credit card! The trailhead, where...
