Assuming that was I who you're referring to that got back to you with much appreciation. Thanks again, BTW! One thing different is, I have been around on this forum for 10 years. (y)
I like helping folks too, but I will hold off on those who come out of the gate asking for intel immediately...
Wow, I think you hit every location suggested! That's the way to do it!
Being from NC too, I have had folks ask, why do you keep going to the Rockies when we have mountains here? Stating, "mountains are mountains"! My reply, no comparison!
From a flatlander with high humidity, I will leave my call at home before leaving my chapstick! I'll even cram some in my nose. Heavy breathing because of high altitude and dry air is rough for the first couple of days.
0700-ish every morning. We were staying in Gardiner, so the entrance was only a mile or two from the hotel. We were there the first week of June. There are some road work being done, so if the flag...person stops you, you may be sitting there 25-30 minutes before going.
Another NC-ian here.
We were in Yellowstone and Grand Teton the other week. There's going to crowds all along the west side of where Grand Prismatic to Old Faithful are, so be patient. I did enjoy Lemar Valley. Just seemed much more quiet with less tour buses and more critters to see.

One way that I like it is and it's simple.
After removing as much fat as possible, marinade a roast with Moore's Marinade. Throw on grill. Once you turn it over, add some Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning, and add a little more once you turn it the second time.
Slowly grill to ensure that it's...
It's not long in the morning before the thermals start to rise. So we try to get higher than the elk, then parallel closer to them by the time it is rising. By this time, we're above them with the thermals in our favor.
Sometimes plans are just that and doesn't always go perfectly, but that's...
My non hunting bucket list items that simply cost a fee have pretty much been knocked out. Those are easily done. The one that takes more than just cash would be to run the Boston Marathon. I'm running other marathons in various locations, but haven't quite made the cut for that one...yet...
I'm not trying to derail the thread, but I live about as far from Montana as I can be (North Carolina), and I can't fathom the thought of paying for someone to scout for me. I just drive out 2400 miles one way every Sept, spend 2-3 weeks hunting. If elk are not in first area, I move to...
Fishing4sanity, I attempted to hit the "like" button numerous times, but it just kept liking, then undoing the like. So it ended up being just one like, although I really wanted to continue.
I will agree with the Big Agnes, and I was absolutely miserable using a 2 man tent. I have since went to 4. For an extra minimal weight, that only lasts for the pack in/out, the pros outweigh the cons. And I am all about lightweight too, but comfort during the night is more important to me...
The videoing from behind the window wife seems to be the only one with any sense.
But I can see my wife wanting to video me doing something stupid too. But she would be easily heard using the word idiot throughout said video!
I agree with Oak and Nathan. But make sure you agree before stepping out of the truck.
My elk hunting buddy and I really don't care who takes the first shot. After the first shot, then it's the others turn.
We split the meat down the middle, and we've killed a couple, so it's all good...
