Anyone shoot one? What are your thoughts on it? Found a browning x bolt western hunter on sale at cabelas in this chambering. Very interesting bullet, fastest 6.5 mil bullet in production if my research is correct.
Hey guys!
Long story short, I have a 300 win mag that I’m scared to take on my antelope hunt, I think it’s too much gun. Does anyone hunt with a 300 win mag? And what are the most popular calibers out there for pronghorn?
Since I’m not too worried about size currently, I think I’m just going to apply on an area with high draw/success rate so we can have opportunities. Maybe after I get the first one I’ll be pickier and start trying to build points
Hello everyone,
Can someone help me out here? Planning my first trip out west to Wyoming for pronghorn and trying to understand how the first and second choices work on the application. Can someone explain these to me?
Can I ask why it’s tough? Looks like there’s a fair amount of walk in hunt areas and some decent chunks of state/blm? Is it for the lack of animals or land available?
That’s what I’m excited for, the fact that you could hunt an area for a week and see different deer everyday. I can’t wait to get out and roam around rather than sit in a treestand for 8 hours hoping one specific deer comes by me. Sometimes that’s fun, but most of the time it’s exhausting
Thank you! A buddy of mine actually looked up cabins for this coming year and most of them were already booked in the areas we were looking at. I’m assuming a lot of guys just re book them for the coming year as soon as they leave. And you’re welcome! Can’t wait to come experience it
Do you still have to pay the 100 for the preference point if you draw otc? Or does it automatically give you a point since you didn’t obtain your first choice?
Hello everyone,
I have never been on an elk hunt and want to start building points to go on a good rifle hunt. From the research I’ve done on go hunt, it looks like you can obtain a decent tag in Wyoming with around 3-6 points for a general, or 7-10 on a limited. I would like to start building...
Yea there’s some decent stuff here in Indiana. Just not a ton. Just majority of prime hunting ground is leased and it’s insane the money you fork out now with all the third party leasing companies
Yea, I know it’s not really necessary to be spike camp ready, but this is our first western hunt so we kinda just wanted to start practicing for other hunts (I.e. elk) but more than likely we will camp by the truck. What’s everyone’s thoughts on BMA’s. I know you can’t camp on them but just for...
