I switched from a bolt gun to a Thompson Center Encore about 20 years ago and I have never looked back. I am headed out to Colorado this fall for my first elk hunt. I have a Encore with a 300 win mag barrel and a 7mm mag in the Pro Hunter. Both have had trigger jobs done and have a trigger pull...
I have a pair of Thompson Center Encores for my elk hunt this fall. I can put light weight composite stocks on them or heavier laminated wood stocks. I'm leaning towards the composite stocks for the sheer weight difference plus they should not move too much with the change in temperature. Any...

I was wondering the same. I live by Alton and 500' is a lot different than 9,000'. I am getting ready to shoot my 7mm mag and my 300 win mag to get ready for 2nd rifle season in Colorado this fall. I need to find a range or a friendly farmer that has a spot to shoot out to...

Mulleys might be out of the question on this first trip because of the whole NR no points thing. My wife has family down near Gunnison and they are ranchers with a ton of land. They said that if they get damage permits for mulley or antelope that I could come down there and hunt.
I finally get to go out west and hunt for elk. We are going to Colorado for 2nd rifle season to a unit that has OTC bull tags. I want to get a mulley tag also. How do I go about doing that? I'd like to hunt both this year if possible.
Thanks,
