Planning for next year already. I'm interested in Wyoming because of distance to home. Now I'm curious as to how the special preference draw works. I have zero points but would I be able to pull that tag without any points in that draw?
As a resident of SD I really wish they'd limit nr archery tags like any state that has a decent herd of deer. And the mentor tag thing is a joke. Let little kids have a centerfire rifle in Sept to shoot at deer when it's hot or there's people bow hunting or pheasant hunting. They should make the...
Learn to wait for the gravy tags. Put in for extra tags, hunt crap units, struggle for success and enjoy the epic hunts when you get them. I missed the first draw this year but I did enough research on the leftover units, pulled a tag and I think I may have a pretty good hunt lined up. And if...
Just remember if those tags are leftover at the 3rd draw they are either oversold or hard to get at the animals. Personally I'd save my money for buying a $80 doe tag if you're a nr and go shoot two in Wyoming if there is any left. But speaking for SD antelope I'd give 49 A or B a shot before...
I've been wanting to go bow hunting goats for several years now and I finally got a chance to sneak away for the weekend and try it. I had a rifle tag in the SD badlands last year and was successful so I decided to head there again. Was the most frustrating and exciting hunt of my life. And now...
Was handed down the land by his dad, never paid a dime on it but tax, the state tried to pay over $30G in damages but apparently he believes his alfalfa that he grows in the hills in worth more than that. I guarantee those sheep make the state more money in hunting apps and tourist money than...
I wouldn't buy an archery antelope tag if I went out pheasant hunting. By the time pheasants open, the antelope rifle season has been open and closed so the goats would be spooky. I'd go grouse hunting a week before rifle goat season and then buy a bow tag for them. Just my two cents.
Yeah I did, actually got a bunch of family members together and we put in for a bunch of doe tags. And several of us put in for any tags as well. So hopefully it goes good.
Looking to take a few family members out on opener if we can draw the tags. Is it a wash of a hunt if your don't have a landowner lined up or would we be able to get somewhere to hunt while we were out there? Any help would be nice guys. Thanks
Well I'm young and dumb enough to go sheep hunting before I have kids and more important things so it might be a thing I will do. I've been looking and the draw odds for a NR ewe tag are fairly good. I guess $1250 for a sheep tag is just something you have to deal with. I really wouldn't want to...
What does an ewe tag cost in montana? Curiosity has gotten the best of me and now I want to try to hunt in the near future. And I'm a NR too. Only thing I could find is that ram tags are $1250 but nothing about ewe tags.
Had someone call us in dove hunting for apparently thinking there was an active shooting going on in the field, because of the excellent shooting. So a local deputy came out, drive into the field and proceeded to get out his AR and tell us to put our guns down and walk towards the vehicle. We...
Anyone had any luck here in recent years? And how did it winter this year. Thought about trying to draw a tag in this unit this year just thought I'd get some info, maybe find someone who wants to go with me. Let me know guys
