We can’t forget to ridicule the muzzleloader guys, which is going the same direction as archery. Look at this “open sight muzzleloader”. My .270 is more of a primitive weapon than this. This rifle would do some serious damage on the Norris Rd elk in December.
My only hangup on the hard casts is wondering if they make enough of a wound channel on your typical heart/lung shot on a deer or elk compared to a soft point. With the bore diameter of the .45-70 it’s probably not worth worrying about. I have no doubt that’s the way to go for penetration.

12,000 plus trailer weight empty and that close to your max pin weight would have me looking at a smaller trailer or a 1 ton, but that’s just me. I don’t like to get anywhere close to the max.
