Wyoming point creep. How bad will it be for the NR elk draw this year?
I am expecting point creep in WY to be worse than I am expecting. -
23 swing for fences tag
I am trying to burn max elk points in WY. It should happen, but time will tell and I am not packing just yet. Otherwise, I am swinging for the fences in AZ, NM, UT, WY, ND, and Maine (moose). Wildife Task force 90-10, etc.
Working on cashing in WY points for myself and my family ASAP. When points are gone, we will be out of the WY game and leave it to others to chase tags. I am not upset with WY at all. We have a had a good run with NR, DIY hunting, but the prices are getting a little crazy. Hunting continues... -

I completely agree. My wife and I are already planning an exit strategy from this state for many reasons. Wolves are one of many and will change hunting opportunities here in short order. I am looking forward to getting to a state that is both reasonable and sane. Neither of those terms...- Buschy

Annual elk rifle thread
Pretty vanilla setup here. Weatherby Vanguard in 7mm Rem. Mag. with 160 Nosler Partition handloads. A fair number of antelope, whitetails, mulies and elk (with some various other critters thrown in as well) over 33 seasons says that vanilla works just fine. I see no reason to change anything. -

2023/2024 update !!! Norris Road Elk Hunt
Since you asked for my thoughts Kurt, those individuals are nothing more then disgusting lazy asses. When I get older (then the advanced age I already am) and don’t have the physical ability to hunt the right way, I will give it up. I don’t need an elk or any other animal that bad. -
