McCall B tag going solo
and its this thought process that "everyone" has and turns 4-7 mi in more crowded than hunting 1 mile from the road. Elk will be where elk will be. I have more places to hunt off major roads than deep in the back country cause nobody hunts them. Hunt smarter not harder -

Is the price of gas hindering your out-of-state or in-state hunt plans?
I have 4 elk tags and instead of hunting MT and driving way over I am going to concentrate on spots closer to me. Gas will not effect my 9 day trip to ID for elk or my 10 day hunt in UT -

There is big differences in time of the year for deer meat quality. If you have not had a alfalfa fed whitetail deer from early Sept then you have no idea how good this is. By far some of the best quality meat I have ever eaten from any biggame. -
