The few instances I've encountered have been on roads that ended up not being public, or gates that didn't sit on the public/private boundary. Onx draw odds?
It appears OnX is using something closer to what the raw data would suggest. As I understand it, GoHunt runs a draw simulation that gives you the estimated odds. Is New Mexico worth it?
If you're only applying for hunts with less than 1% chance to draw, then no, NM is not worth it. For deer, if you're willing to branch out and try areas that aren't the traditional "trophy" units, you can increase your odds significantly. Same with trying different weapon types. I've seen...- NMGuy

Logistics of harvesting in New Mexico CWD Units
I've had deer tested for CWD before. Basically, if the test comes back negative they don't contact you. You'd only get a call from NMGF if the animal was positive for CWD, which kind of sucks. -
