Stone Glacier pack or Exo Mtn and Why ?

I believe there are a top 4 in packs- Exo, SG, Kifaru and Initial Ascent. I’m partial to Exo, but wouldn’t fault anyone for choosing one of the others. My buddy has a Kifaru and loves it. I’m most likely an Exo customer for life.

Potential Breakthrough In The Fight Against Cancer

It isn’t just human food with issues. Every herd of cattle we deal with has it, some worse than others. There isn’t a week without at least one animal (out of a minimum of 50) being condemned with some form of cancer.

Well, it's not good. Not religious but prayers are welcomed.

So sorry, Dave. You have been through so much, I hope you can find some peace and the healing you need now. God bless

The Big Snip - How bad is it?

Ironic. Got mine yesterday, too. Day 1 worse than Day 2. No ice or ibuprofen needed today. Nice the kids are gone for the day

    Fantasy baseball, anyone?

I know there are some baseball guys here, and I’m pretty sure I remember some fantasy baseball chatter once upon a time. I’m looking for a couple more to fill out an auction league if anyone is interested. 12-15 teams (hoping for 12 at this point) standard 5x5 roto, $50 entry on fantrax plus...

Very cool research study published to the WDNR website

I found the videos of Buck 5700’s GPS pings extremely satisfying

    SD Black Hills

If you’re going to draw the whitetail tag, I’d say you have a good chance. The Any Deer tag… who knows… Anyway, there are whitetails to be found. I’ve seen a handful of dandies on public and a pile more on private. I’d look on the eastern half of the Hills for them, in more scattered ownership...

    Wow

Bingo. Also saw that someone did the figures for inflation and tax rate for CA and it’s more like the equivalent of 500 mil or somewhere in that neighborhood

    Wow

Hopefully he comes back and can start. If not, I’m sure he’d still work out of the pen, and he can play really good OF, so there is plenty of value in that

WI end tomorrow, not a Togie hunt.(public)

I sit down in the swamp that funnels a lot of deer when they get pushed from pretty much every direction. I gotta beat the pressure. Usually only lasts a day or two. Then I try to get a few more minutes of sleep

WI end tomorrow, not a Togie hunt.(public)

Good luck, ‘Sconnies! I’ll be in my usual stand, hopefully shortly after 5. It’ll be a much different year for our group. We lost two of our hunting party this year, so it’ll be pretty melancholy at the Shack. That said, had a few nice bucks running around, so hopefully I hit the big buck lottery.

    Going to Wisconsin

Looking forward to the updates. Was a slow weekend about two hours north of where you were at, with a lot of action during the week last week, and apparently picking up again today. My mother in law was watching my boys today and saw this guy out the south window.

Non-Game Species Encountered in the Field

Besides the cool encounters with bobcats over the years, I’ve also had plenty of owls around- in fact, I often tell my wife I was an owl in another life and that’s why I have so many around me. One of my most memorable was when I had a small owl (Saw-whet maybe?) land roughly 30-35 yards away...

Non-Game Species Encountered in the Field

This is from last fall. Had two bobcat kittens and their mother come by. Not the best video, but the kittens were having a ball- wrestling, climbing, running.

Non-Game Species Encountered in the Field

I’ve had around 20 bobcat encounters over the years, but this was one of the coolest. Came in, peed in the deer scrape under my stand then picked me off. This is a screenshot, since I don’t know if I can upload video

    A Wisconsin Youth Hunt

Gonna be a lot of happy kids this weekend, I think, with this cold front. Good luck!
