Ozarks are pretty nice from September through November then again February through May. The humidity is a killer though. I’d go pure unadulterated Ozarks myself. What could Springfield add that would be of value?
I have family near Hamilton and distant family near Libby. It’s wonderful country...
Leupold explained that the 700 rem bases are indeed different and very likely the cause of my issues.
Warne doesn’t differentiate, I guess one just “knows” to get the 20MOA rail to compensate.
Thank you WalkingBird for the help.
South of I-64 is not Illinois in my opinion. It should be annexed to MO or perhaps IN. I spent 10 years planning and saving for my escape. Oh to be in the Rockies, free transfer through the company was a Godsend I could not pass up.
I grew up near Champaign/Urbana. Seeing water towers 20 miles...
MSR Pocket Rocket stove kit. A hot lunch goes a long way keeping me comfortable in the field.
Foam gardening pad seat cushion. I hate a wet ass.
Headlamp, I have no idea how I went 30 years without.
Born and raised on the prairie, a job transfer brought me to the relative paradise that is MN 17yrs ago.
ive bow hunted since the mid 70’s, starting with a 30# York Cadet target bow, progressing through 4 compounds and back to a vintage Bear recurve and Wapiti Spike longbow. Shredded rotator...
Thank you all for the insight. I’ve sent an email to Leupold asking for some clarification on this issue. They do show different part #’s for the bases.
I want to retain the QR feature the Talley set appears to rob me of that option.
That is the kind of thing I wanted to hear. Although Im pretty sure Warne doesn’t have a specific skew for the Howa. I’ll certainly look into this, like I’ve said I really don’t want to go rail.
‘16 XL F-150, at 88,500 now. 5.0l, elocker, 4door, 36 gallon fuel tank, trailering pkg, lifetime mpg of 19.5, that’s the hilights.
5 1/2 bed is upsetting for many uses, I’ve gotten by, but it certainly cramps my style. Chaining up is a non-starter, therefore a more snow biased tire is called...
A call to them prompted the removal and reinstall. They really had no comment about the Warnes other than call them. I’m about to succumb to the rail, but wanted a few opinions before I put another hundy into this project.
It gets nowhere close to the stop. 3/4 turn from getting there.
I’m not wanting to go with a rail if I don’t have to, but if that is what it takes so be it. This is my first dial setup, for all I know I was nearly out of elevation before this new setup. Have always done the 3”high at 100 setup...
I’ve started this project w/ a Leupold VX3i Warne Bases, and medium QR rings.
The scope has the turret cut for 200 zero 257 Weatherby, 110g Accubond at 3250fps. Having zeroed it at 200yds I run out of elevation in about a quarter turn, 460yds. Being honest that’s as far as I’d normally feel...
