How are you spending your time?

Idk, my wife and I are always amazed how we can order a custom made bowlers hat from Zimbabwe and get next day delivery from Amazon. Like how??? And it’s free!

Spend my spare time trolling the heck out of this forum. Still deployed and hoping not extended. Gotta fill that tag...

    Preferred 300WM round

I’ve never found the 300wm to be near as bad as everyone says. And I’m not big by any stretch, I usually weigh in around 155. I can sit behind mine all day long and not feel sore at all, have I been missing something?

Happy Place Pics: stress and anxiety are toxic

Took a road trip along the PCH with the wife and kids, no plan, no reservations, no time frame or destination. Camping most of the way. Ended up a hair under a month. Any time I’m out hunting or scouting. My Dad was always fascinated with WWII history, so I booked a flight for us on a B17. I...

    Corona virus

Well, if this craziness is still going on in a couple months when I’m due to return to the states, my wife wants me to self quarantine for two weeks. Ok, I’ve got a few OTC tags already, I’ll head up north for two weeks to hunt. Wife said that’s a great idea, so it’s not all bad.

    Preferred 300WM round

So I’ve done a search, and if someone else finds a thread about this that I couldn’t find I would love the redirection... We all have our own preferences, but I was curious what everyone’s preferred 300WM round is for elk. Worked up your own load? Preferred COTS round? Etc. I’ve mainly been...

Growing up in the Canadian arctic

Took one of the rifles out before I left for work a couple of months ago. We used 3 different rifles primarily, and a .22 pistol for ptarmigan. Remington 700 in .222 for rabbits and smaller game. And split between a Ruger 77 in .308 and a Savage 99 in .308 for musk ox and caribou. Later on...

    Corona virus

I’ve got a home gym, and I know for a fact it’s good to go, since I’m stuck overseas for work.... But my wife sent this picture to me.

    Corona virus

My biggest concern? I finally drew my bull tag after years of waiting. And I’m currently working overseas. They shut down flights (already happened to some people I previously worked with) and I’m unable to hunt. Virus be damned, I want a chance at my bull.

    Suppressor on Hunting Rifle

I do both. I hunt with and without. I just don’t have one for my 300wm, but 308 and below I use a can. I like not worrying about hearing loss, and those that say it doesn’t affect you either don’t do it a lot, or ignore medical facts. Multiple exposures over your life have proven documented...

    Backpack Camera Setups?

Canon EOS 5D MK3. Various lenses depending what I’m after. Usually just a RRS tripod with a couple of mounts. And charliebravo77 those are some pretty awesome shots.

    Drone for Backcountry Adventure

This is a dicey topic. I have a drone. I use it for photography on road trips, etc. it provides some amazing angles not otherwise possible. There are apps and such that will show you where it can and cannot fly, which is good to be aware of. Not just for the legal ramifications, but also for...

Who likes Muskox? Updated with hunt report

Nice! I grew up eating musk ox but haven’t had any in years. Looks like it was a lot of fun.

Tape at the end of barrel?

I started taping my muzzles when I first enlisted about 15 years ago, and never stopped. I suppose now more out of habit than anything else, since my grandfather, father and myself (when I was much younger) never taped and never once had any issues.
