Have run these on my Wolverine for a couple of years now. I’ve had a few punctures BUT I don’t use roads or tracks generally And they’ve been in areas with trees known to us as iron wood. Have been great on hard pack to sand. I run about 5 psi all round and nice and comfy in the paddock. I...
He’s about 1 1/2 hours north of Brisbane.
Borders should be open next month - pending what happens in Vic. Still plenty of buff up there. My buddy is a dogging contractor in the NT and always complaining about them chasing him on the quad.
My niece gave my games room this nickname many years ago. I‘ve wanted to start a trophy room many moons ago but have only been able to afford such things as I progress through my working life. It’s still a work in progress after a recent paint job.
All have been taken by bow
A couple of nice...
A group of us did some not so scientific testing leading up to our Montana hunt. Basically we filmed and audio recorded a few different combinations - shot arrows straight over the camera etc. Blazers were definitely the noisiest. I’d been using 3 x 4” killer vanes, which still are a favourite...
One of my hunting mates carries a grizzly stick in his quiver when we are hog hunting - uses it for a finisher. From memory he’s taken a dozen hogs with the same shaft and hasn’t looked like breaking it.
Had a bit of a giggle to myself. Just been putting my old Pile Drivers in a pile for an upcoming hog slaying trip - a little over 4 dozen And same for recurve. Most of them have a 100gn brass insert up front and a 125gn broadhead, but have never actually measured FOC. The hit hard, even on the...
This is the combo I settled on Axis 5mm / Viper Trickes) when I travelled to US for my hunt last year - worked for me. I tested the combo on a few small hogs (40lb) here in OZ before the trip and penetration was excellent.
The roo bar was sorted last week. Put the light bar on this week while “working from home”.
Now it’s just hurry up and wait until we can get back on the road again.
My every day arrow set up is 550gn all up.
We have water buffalo Here in Oz, they are genuine big game animal. I found 750gn works for me - have shot as high as 870gn. The heavier arrow didn’t really penetrate any better. I’ve always used 2 blade double and single beveled broadheads on big...
I’m seriously jealous of the choice you folks have in the US. Having owned a pair of Meindls, these look like a great boot.
I still have a pair of an older model called Torup. Wore them in everything from snow on Idaho Elk hunt, to the harshness of northern australia. I had them re-soled...
Probably the best set up trucks i‘ve seen here, are on a program called “All 4 Adventure” I think it’s on outdoor channel now. They stay remote for weeks on end and get into some wild, untamed country.
Can get expensive if you don’t have protection up front. I try not to drive at night when they are most active BUT still mange to bounce at least 10 a year.
