I was lucky enough to tag out a week ago on this fine bull. I ambushed him as he was heading to a bedding area. He only made it about 30 yards.
Now I can focus on my mountain goat tag. It is going to be an archery kill or tag soup...at least that is what I'm telling myself.
I hope the rest...
I was lucky enough to pull a tag after 13 years of applying, and would love to hear from others who have had the tag in the past. I've had a game plan for this tag for about 6 years now, and would appreciate being able to bounce my plan off of others who have held the tag.
I will have time for...
323-20 mountain goat tag for me. I last drew one in Oregon in 2001. I had 13 points.
Time to ramp up the exercise routine. Also drew 652-50 muley tag, and have a great elk hunt, and a great speed goat hunt lined up this fall. So much for work.
Congrats to all that drew.

Hey all,
My brother and I pulled this tag. I'd love to hear from anyone that hunted it last year. I'm in Billings and will be hitting it for the first 5 days, and then for another 5 days, if necessary, in mid-November. If anyone wants to chat with their prior experiences, I'd greatly...
Buzz,
Thanks for the recommendation. I hadn't thought of that. Looks like it is tax deductible as a charitable donation, which would put the price in the range we are looking at.

Dear HT Family,
I'd appreciate recommendations for a good guided elk hunt/tag purchase, for 2016. The only caveat being I do not want to look at WY, as we are one point shy of max and don't want to burn our points on a guided hunt as I hope to draw my preferred unit in 2017.
This would be for...
I got this guy on Monday. 23 yard shot and he went about 40. First time hunting out of a blind. I always thought I would hate it, but rather enjoyed watching the game and hoping one would head my way.

Fellow Hunt Talkers-
I hope everyone's season has been a success. I missed a big 6 pt in the Little Belts a few weeks ago when I guessed 40 yards and he was actually 51, and am heading out again for the last week of archery.
I'm looking to burn my points in Wyoming next year. I will have 9...
Friday morning my 66 year old dad passed. Yesterday I left my wife, which was a long time coming. 2 young girls have kept me in but I'm choosing happiness in all my decisions moving forward.
Would love to hear from others who have been through similar paths in their lives.
Thanks.
M.A.
There are already Grizz in the Little Belts. I know, as one moved in to my hunt area 3 years ago. I think it is only inevitable that Grizz expand in to new territory as their population increases and available habitat decreases.
MT boy here as well. I've been to both sides of Mexico multiple times, on a cruise, the Caribbean, three of the Hawaiian islands and Costa Rica.
Hands down my favorite trip was Costa Rica, pacific coast, followed by Kauai. Neither will disappoint.
I broke in my new T3 ultra light 270 stainless at the range this weekend. It shot sub 1" groups at 100 and 2" groups at 200, straight out of the box. A quality vortex scope and someone at Cabela's who did a damn fine job on the bore-sighting probably helped.
I would definitely recommend this...
