Whatever you choose make sure it’s the kind where the kid looks the same way as you. Then they really feel part of the action. We also had a Kelty that was second hand. We put a lot of miles on that thing. The adjustment is great to go along with kids growth.- Fishnride

Fall black bear in CO
There are bears in all different types of habitat. They act a little different in each, but generally you’re looking for more remote, steep drainages with water in the bottom. That sounds like a lot of Colorado… but as far as alpine bear hunts I’m talking about “V” type drainages near treeline...- Fishnride
