I'm basically in the same boat, not putting in this year but probably next year. One of my concerns with the third season is potentially alot more hunters in the woods becuase of the combined deer/elk season, what are your guys thoughts on this?
And now for the rest of the story.
Like most opening mornings, it this one came very quickly, with not much sleep the night before. We were up on the mountain at first light and within a few minutes of arriving at our glassing spot a band of 11 mature rams were spotted feeding around a rock...
Since I know everyone loves seeing some pics of sheep I thought I would share with you my 2010 California Bighorn from Washington. After over 12 years of applying I was wondering if my name would ever come up and thankfully it did. I was able to do extensive preseason scouting and had my pick...
I think the Huntin Fool said the odds were around 80%. They definately increased significantly with the price hike and taking away the outfitter tags. SE MT in November is a BLAST!
I've never hunted Idaho before for bears but am going to head that way this spring to try and shoot my first bear. I was wondering if someone could share with me the scoop on the units that have the reduced price bear tags for non residents as well as the 2 bear limit. I am guessing that this...
I'm in the same boat but looking at ID for my hunt. From what I've gathered its generally better to wait till later in the season. The key I think is to find where the fresh grass is really growing and focus on those areas.
Those are some great pics of really cool looking bears. I'm hoping to come to Idaho this spring for a shot at spring bear and I like what I see in those pics!
Got back from my Wyoming antelope hunt about a week ago. What a blast that trip was, no way am I waiting so long to chase those critters again. Next time I go I am going to lock my bullets up for at least 24 hours. Had fun looking over all the bucks, I don't think I shot the largest one I saw...
Sweet looking ram, any head on shots? I've got a similiar tag in my pocket that opens next week here in Washington, new unit has never been hunted before its been a blast scouting and locating all the rams, its been fun although the season might be a short one for me. Great looking bighorn.
Cool pics, only 2 more weeks to go. My gun is all dialed in and ready to rock and roll. Got a sheep tag I've got to fill next week though. :) Got the unit all scouted and the rams dialed in so w'ell see what happens, then off to Wyoming. When it rains it pours I guess, going to be a busy...
