308 Bullet Selection (factory loads)

Your list didn’t contain, possibly the best .308 Win. bullet for elk. That would be the VOR-TX, 150 grain! Do some research on them, before you discard them. Loaded with Barnes Bullets, which are a proven performer on larger game. memtb -

No problem with picture....it seems when I kill something real big (moose), they always die pointed in the wrong direction! :D My wife’s last moose was also taken with a .338 WM, using Barnes 225 TTSX! memtb- memtb

Generally speaking, moose are not hard to kill with proper bullet placement. But often, they don’t realize that they should be dead, and it takes a little time for them to fall down. First I would recommend a premium bullet, that retains a high % of it’s weight. Personally any of the 30’s (.308...- memtb

How far is your commute to work?
Nut, Eighty-eight (88) miles each way! Plus 12hrs+ at work, makes for a pretty long day.But,I work 7 on 7 off, so it aint so bad.The drive takes me along 35+ miles of the Big Horn River,15 miles of beautiful canyon, and about 15 miles of lake shore. Base Camp or Cabin
noharleyyet, We have a mobile base camp( large 5th wheel with most creature comforts and good to about -30F), which we get as close as possible to our hunting area. From there we drive in by truck as far as possible then,either walk-in, or backpack in and spike-camp! -memtb -
