Joined this forum 2011. Over a couple thousand posts. The vast majority of those concerned the very issues that (one would surmise) concern the average DIY public land hunter. Posted plenty of pics and hunting stories. Been hunting profusely since 1975. Have 20 assorted hunting firearms and...

    Teddy Coming Down

While so many of those posting on this thread are pissing and moaning about the loss of mostly worthless - and arguably damaging - symbolism. Some of us are actually "in the arena". Striving valiantly and attempting - in the face of withering and remarkably stupid opposition from our "fellow"...

I Once Lived In A Free Country

Nice graph. A recent well reviewed thread on here was about Jim Posewitz and his contributions to Montana's fisheries legacy. Great guy. Great thread. Great story. Great everything. He's old. And expendable. Without guys like him - Randy would most likely not have this forum - for all kinds...

I Once Lived In A Free Country

Completely aside yet 100% related to..... This forum once had a lot of discussion about public land hunting issues. A lot of serious public land advocates used to bring up, discuss, and advocate for these issues. Invariably, the tin hat gallery would show up and railroad things. Interesting...

Covid-19 Data, Models, References - NO DISCUSSION

A reference to elkdud's Covid/John Prine post. John's still fighting for his life. As are many others - as will many others. B4 Prine sang Blaze Foley's song, Clay Pigeons (in this video) - he humbly defers to Foley - the original writer and singer of this gem. John's always been that way. A...

    Firearm maintenance and social distraction

Well it's time avoid the daily national "no adequate words for it" on cable news channels. Instead of listening to it, I picked it up. And the .41 was put away dirty, so - but hey, it's stainless:LOL:

    Snow in Bozeman

Bozeman area snow knocked power out in my area. An interesting twist to an interesting situation. Headlamps on - fed the dogs, coleman-stoved some coffee, turned on the portable radio for some music. Don't have a smartphone so I couldn't instagram. It was a bitch. Power came back on. Lotsa'...

    GSP vs English Pointer

The versatile breeds aren't called versatile for nothin'. A birdhunter, her bird dog, a sewing machine and face shield fabrication. Strange times go largely unnoticed by a wiry faced four legged athlete. They are at your side no matter the circumstances.......

Although Montana epicenter - Bozo - is no Fort Peck, those of us that live in places like MT, are pretty damned fortunate. So far.

    Firearm maintenance and social distraction

The liar's (goin' easy here) is up. Had a project in cue. Last coat of plastidip clear coat on the handle of the new net. 3 coats black plastidip spray, 3 coats clear plastidip coat. Pretty mundane project - but mundane is a great alternative to pathetic (again goin' easy here)......
