    Coyote rifle

Only shotguns I ever used on the canines were. 12ga 3" mag. 30, 32 & 36" barrel factory smoothbore FC. For fox I used BB, for coyotes I used 3 & 4 buffered Buckshot. I patterned my shotguns on 3/8 & 3/4" plywood at varying yardages. Where I would draw the line on max yardages were when they...

Ask Adventure Medical Kits your First Aid questions here

ILbowhntr, Are you a certified EMT (basic?) If not, I suggest going to a medical book store. Or ordering one on line a (EMT-basic training manual). Otherwise if I recall correctly. I scanned through an old Boy Scout 1st aid manual many decades ago. It was excellent as to handling 1st aid &...

    Small female

Anomalies do happen in nature. I've seen a few myself. One being a very late Red Fox litter of 2kits. I seen them mid October & both kits looked to be around 9-10 wks old. I've told few people about it. Because MOST would be tempted to call me a liar.

Ask Adventure Medical Kits your First Aid questions here

I'm not sure if this Q&A forum is still active & or being answered? But I will say, I was a state certified medic for a long time. Et I'm willing to answer emergency/injury type questions best to my ability. (I will also say, it is BEST to consult a physician FIRST if anyone has a medical...

    Small female

Smallest female I ever seen let alone killed. She was around 21 lbs best I can recall now days. After calling a strip of timber she stepped out onto the open. Setting Sun was in my eyes so she looked dark like a fox. Until she turned facing me I could then tell she was a coyote. She was paired...

    Coyotes

I've killed plenty. So giving them a free pass doesn't matter to me.

    Spotting scope questions

For what its worth? Probably not much lol. Anyway some yrs back. I bought a compact spotter scope. It was made by Winchester. Scope was around 9" long & built like a tank. Scope was 12-50x50mm objective. The glass on it was good. Scope at the time cost me around $100.00. As for it being built...

    Coyote dispersal/scattering of the yearlings

Worth noting to me. Of a mated pr. It is the female who is most often. The last one to relax & lay her head down. I believe the female is more wary than the male on average. I have witnessed that many times. When I see enough of the same exact behavior. I average out how many times I have...

    Coyote dispersal/scattering of the yearlings

The above alpha pr. I have watched them with their yearlings( some refer to them as yoys/ie; young of the year). I watched them 2 yrs in a row. Each litter consisted of 5 pups. 2x in a row. All of their yearlings scattered during the 3rd wk in December.

    Coyote dispersal/scattering of the yearlings

I believe coyote dispersal takes place. When the alpha female comes in heat. I watched a family group one day on the move amongst the hills. They crossed a gravel road in front of me & continued on into another section. Out around 3/8 mile. They all milled around checking things out then one by...

    Spot/stalking a coyote

How I stalk a bedded coyote. I will use the face of a clock as an example. Wind blowing from 12:00 to 6:00. The bedded coyote is the center of the clock dial. After triangulating it's bearing. I sneak in from the 10:00 or 200 angle. Which puts me up & cross wind from the coyote. If I'm quiet...
