I haven't killed a Red in probably 30yrs or more? Back in the early 60's. They were the only wild canine around. I killed a lot over many yrs. So did our sighthounds. Coyotes moved in 1968. Predator behaviors
Out hunting one winter day, during breeding season. I seen a string of coyotes following a distant fence line. The lead coyote(a female). Stopped to pee. Bedded down
All of these canines have the same behavior in common. Wind at their backside as per usual. You could add timber to these pics. It wouldn't change their behavior. I've seen coyotes bedded down in sparse timber. They do the same thing. Add hills or on flat land. Samo...samo.- 1oldcoyote
