I use it for the pressure feature. I can throw frozen meat in and 60-90 min later have a great stew. The only drawback is that all the moisture stays in the pot so many things turn into a soup, taking all the flavor into the water. This is easy to remedy if you reduce the liquid to a...
Public land KY rifle season is not as crowded as other places I've been. Midweek you should have plenty of room to yourself. Y not give DIY a shot?? Way cheaper.
After seeing in person my answer is #2 hell no, and #1 not even possible without climbing gear. The mountain had sheer cliff faces on certain sections and about 30" off snow. Very easy to cross off before I even scouted, and gives a great frame of reference for my future e-scouting.
Trying to get the most of my e-scouting and am wondering what the opinions are on "can I climb this?" (More like do you think you could climb it or is it possible to hike up on foot). Its about 1400 ft elevation gain over 1.3 miles of hiking.
A little further down the road:
Nosler manual recommends (p 70) seating .05" to 0.1" off he lands. The only respectable groups I could shoot the 140gr e-tip in my 7 rem mag was using rl22 and > 0.05" off the lands.
I read that too, but it doesn't really present the blind taste test. I'm just gonna go back and try to grab the turtle and eat him, see how it tastes. I'll probably soak the meat in salt water, then milk for a couple days. Seems easier for me than soaking the whole, live turtle. I'll keep you...
I would recommend the Barnes TSX 250gr and 300gr with H4198 for your 1895 if your into that kind of thing. Very nice combination in mine. Natchez has the bullets online usually 15$ for a box of 20.
Can anyone comment on whether it is necessary to keep snapping turtles alive for a week or so before cooking? I've read that it makes the meat more palatable but don't know anyone who has done the actual taste test. It would be a big hassle for me to keep a turtle alive in my apartment for a...
Last year I made it a point to travel to a new state for a 5 day deer hunt in Nebraska and had an awesome time getting worn out on public land and camping from my truck. I decided to try and travel to a new spot for deer hunting every year and am looking to hear any input for cool places to...
The only reason I could see one bashing the 6.5 has nothing to do with the cartridge itself. I think the issue comes when people see benchrest 1000 yd 6.5 CM rifles and equate it to shooting an elk@1000yds. The cartridge is interesting and available in some cheap rifles that can shoot really...

This may be what he was talking about.....but to really emphasize the conclusions can only be drawn based on the sampled population and any general claims like "hunters have higher PbB" are not universally true. I would also stress that these studies...
I was looking at starline maybe for my .45/70 mostly because it looked like a good value.
A mix of Winchester, Remington and Hornady from a mix of about 5 factory loads that I bought in 2016. I'm mostly looking to get a larger amount of the same brass to start with a consistent baseline for...
Yeah, I was able to shoot a doe antelope with some nosler 120gr in WY during my first Western hunt.....DIY from start to finish in all aspects...very satisfying
That's a great point, I was just thinking instead of buying more factory ammo for 40-50$ / 20 cases to fireform, I could just buy more brass from the same manufacturer and keep my current "old" brass for reduced loads. Definitely have a good return on investment with the Lee loader and have been...
Does anyone have reccomendations for a good brand of brass for my 7 rem mag?? I have been using my Lee loader (rubber mallet 😎) with fire formed factory cases and I'd like to get some new brass for fall hunting! Seems every brand on Midway has just enough bad reviews to make me Leary. I'll be...
