For out of state hunts we apply/buy points together and all get tags. I’ve found that if someone doesn’t have a tag that year it’s easier for them to back out.
I really don't see the issue with the numbers you gave. There are more hunts available with 3 or less points than all other hunts combined. Which means opportunity for everyone, even new to the game. If you're complaining about a person never being able to draw a 23 plus point unit, well...
Elk are some what call shy in AZ. They get recreationally called all the time and they learn quick. Some times it’s better to just stalk the herd. Unit 1 is huge so pick a spot and hunt it hard. Can waste a lot of time jumping around the unit.
Is a license and tag the same thing in Colorado ? I haven’t read what the new law actually says but does it say you need a license? A tag is not a license.
im with you on the being able to hunt and build points. I believe Colorado will put everything to a draw and you’ll lose points for any choice like arizona I believe that would decrease point creep as people want to hunt and can’t get a second choice and keep their points.
Most people after applying for 20 plus years are disappointed in the hunt as they expect to kill a 200 inches because they waited and the hunt just doesn’t satisfy them. Other states have great hunts but not the quality of deer that the strip has. They are great hunts for other reasons.
please explain why? If your talking about the possibility of odds being better than reported because people turn down doe tags cause they didn’t draw a buck tag then I’ll take that.
A reason the harvest percent can be high is because they are guided hunts on private land From the published info I can find they don’t break out the spit of non res and resident harvest percent.
Npadens test is also a good one. You covering up the dominant eye I've never seen. If you keep the object in the triangle it will go to the eye that's not covered. A flawed test in my mind
The other one I've done with large groups of kids is to stand 20 feet apart and have them point at your...
You'll need to look at how many applicants there actually are in your point level, number of tags, etc. Remember you're in that 8 point group that is moving to 9. I don't know how the California draw works but it is possible that there are more people with the same point level than you which...
