Thanks for all the replies. I think based on what was said here, I will pass on GoHunt. Besides the state I live in (Oregon), Idaho is the only other one I’m interested in hunting this coming year. So I’ll just stick with OnX and free fish and game sites. In 2022, I’ll add Wyoming, but we...
I'm debating on if I should signup for GoHunt. It gets talked about a lot on Youtube videos, but I wanted some insight from those of you who have used it personally. Is it worth it? Did you sign up every year or just once? Any info would be appreciated. I'm seriously looking to hunt out of...
Ok. I’m new to non-resident hunting. I’m looking at Idaho because I live in Oregon and it’s close.
My question is. If I buy one of these early OTC tags that are available today, what happens if I put in for a draw of that same species? Is it a 2nd tag for that animal or do I replace the...
This happened to me as well. Except while bow hunting years back. I got the shot at just over 30 yards. Got the mule kick reaction and everything. Found my arrow with blood and some hair. Lost blood quickly. This was early morning and my dad and I spent all day trying to find it. I even...
Eating breakfast outside this morning was an easy decision. It was right around 40 degrees so not bad. I work a late shift so was lucky to be home for them today. Watching the 2nd buck dancing with that down was very cool. She’d move one way, then he’d jump to block her. Back and forth...
That first one would be a once in a lifetime buck for me. Hell, the 2nd one too most likely. If I ever get anything close to either I’d be a happy man.
These big guys hide so well during the season. They only come out during the rut. I rarely see true monsters around from April through October. I've found awesome sheds on public land all over the state and that is nice.
That said. It would be awesome if they ever showed up during the...
LMAO... I've had to see these kind of beasts for years.. Haha. Nothing better than getting skunked and coming home to these type of Bucks. I love watching them and have accepted that I will probably never harvest one this big in my life.
Also - We can NOT discharge anything were we live...
It's been an epic day for sure. Glad I could see all this before work. We normally had some babies dropped in our backyard from time to time as well. We've had some serious buck in our yard in the past, but I don't know if we seen a day like this.
Part II. Later, this afternoon I had a doe in back with 3 bucks. Two small ones (Forky and small 4x4) and this big guy. Busy day in the back yard. He was working on cornering this doe who was trying to move. She got free and ran out of the yard as he followed.
I had to break out the old Nikon D80 for this one. It's been awhile for sure. I had to charge the batteries real fast just to get some pics. It has a Nikon 70-300mm VR lens. Back in the day I use to love taking photos. Life got busy and I haven't did any photography in years. It's an old...
I've found some big sheds over the years on the public land around the general area. But I swear these monsters just disappear each year and/or drop them in someone's Grandma's backyard and she chucks them on the burn pile... Hell the one side looks like a root wad.
I woke up this morning to this beast in my backyard. He's got a little limp when he walks, but no clear injury. The mass and extra junk on his antlers is awesome. One of the bigger bucks (when it comes to pure antler mass), I've ever seen in my yard. These big guys come in every year during...
