Unit 7 upland combo hunt
I second the rattlesnake comment made by OntarioHunter. I had the Area 7 antelope tag a few years ago and did see a rattlesnake and only hunted for one day before filling my tag. I did not see any upland birds. -

Funny stuff. In my neighborhood, they look at every 2.5 year old deer that gets shot and say "well, looks like an old one, going down hill"..... Uhh, Yep. -

Danger in the boundary waters
I know a guy from Northern MN that was struck by lightning while camping in the BWCA. He survived, and didn't have any lasting effects. I believe the lightning struck a tree nearby and he was far enough away to survive the event. I've camped on some of the lakes near the area, but haven't...- Walkathon

Expandable broadhead first hand
I shot whitetails with NAP Spitfires over a decade ago, can't remember the diameter, but they were the smaller dia style. I think I shot about 6 or 7 deer with them. Longest shot was about 25 yards. All shots were broadside and quarter to / away slightly. All performed well made it through... -

Ever run into bad guys while hunting?
Thankfully, I've not had any really bad experiences. I camp in the middle of nowhere in my truck in WY sometimes, and I always have a handgun nearby. Only thing that ever raised alarm was having a rancher and his dog drive by my camp at about 10:00 PM while I was about 4 miles off a county...- Walkathon

Police: Teen dies after boys shoot at each other while wearing body armor
If you are 17 years old, and don't see the potential danger in shooting each other while wearing a bullet proof vest, then I don't know what another 12 months are going to do for you as far as brain development. These weren't little kids. They are young adults. -
.25.06 for Elk
My hunting partner shoots adult whitetail bucks every year with a 25-06 using cheap cup/core bullets and it works great (out to about 300 yards). Don't see why it wouldn't work on elk at 300 yards with a quality bullet if she shoots well. No experience with the gun on elk. My 2 cents.- Walkathon

I used to hunt SD for pheasants and one guy I knew would take a rooster that he had shot (legally), then take the head / neck and shove a stick in it, and plant it in a ditch 50 yards from his house out in the grass, in the ditch and watch road hunters shoot it. Another "is this bullet good enough for that?" thread.....
The 140 Gr Interlocks shoot well in my .270 Win, so I bought 7 or 8 boxes of the Hornady factory ammo. The box shows 2950 FPS, so I'm guessing it's similar to what you have. I've experienced really good results on Whitetail deer, and Mule deer out to about 290 yards. Never shot an elk with... -

Can the Partition be loaded to shoot accurately ?
I used to shoot 140 Grain Partitions out of my 7MM Rem Mag and they grouped around 1" at 100. I shot a bunch of deer with them and a couple of pronghorn. Worked great. One memorable performance was a head on shot into an adult mule deer buck's chest at around 150 yards. Bullet traveled...- Walkathon
