    There are always summer fires in the Gila wilderness....wilderness areas in general. There is no logging to take out fuel. Also they will do prescribed burns to help the natural burn along. Natural burns are the way it should be in the forest.

    My pronghorn spot and stalk routine includes extending the bipod for a sitting position and carrying the rifle low in one arm while walking hunched over. when I get over the rise enough to see the buck, I sit and send the round.

    Absolutely....make sure you get the pivot model for slopes. Eastern Wy and Montana definitely. As stated, heavy is good.

    Yea they dropped the ball by not putting in reference bars for the lowest setting. I have the 5318 model. I can read the numbers at 5 power but not three. I tried a snapshot on 3 power in the sage in bright daylight and I was able to see center ok.

    Japanese ED glass is good stuff. I picked up a Series 5 at Midway....They are going for $599. I really like it, so going to mount it on my semi-custom Tikka build when I get done with it.

    I don’t know about 51 but don’t see any benefit of having a drop camp for 34. If you are trying to increase your odds of the draw without paying an outfitter, good luck with that one. Outfitters won’t play that game. They won’t give up a guided hunt for a drop camp.

    Any larger city in the US is like that. Exception is WY where the small towns that are mostly outastaters in oil n gas that have drug problems. They will knock you in the head just to steal your wallet. ”If Texas is so great, why do they come here”.
