NC whitetail buck I shot yesterday
Just a good, representative 8 pt. for around here and my first buck in 2 years. We had our first real cold front come through Friday and the deer were moving good the last few days. He picked the wrong place to try to cross a gas line right of way about 7AM. Bad mistake on his part. -

My favorite bullets for my .270 rifles are soft points from Hornady and Sierra. Their tips commonly get deformed while in the magazine, I assume from recoil when the rifle is fired. For years I never really bothered with it, but recently read a magazine article that indicated that the...- DRS

In Beaufort, Dare, Hyde, Tyrrell, and Washington Counties, which are the closest to where you will be, coyote hunting is regulated and you will need a permit because of the red wolf population which can be purchased from a licensing agent. The NC turkey season will be in from April 14 through May 12 next spring. However, unless you have some private land arranged its going to be probably 1.5 to 2 hour drive west from the Outer Banks to get to any public land and I think most of the state gamelands in that area will be by 3 day...- DRS

A very successful trip not measured by trophy size

Thanks for all the suggestions. Any idea of what kind of turn around time would be for the processing? A few days should be no problem. My wife and I are taking 5 days and I hope to get lucky in the 1st couple of days.
