Not a bolt, but worth remembering that the Ruger Number One is equally suitable for left or right handed shooters:
I've got a couple of them, and dearly love hunting with these Ruger single shot rifles.

Darned good buck. Good photos. And I enjoyed the story of how you are able to hunt that land through your labors.
Good stuff right there! Am looking forward to your photos of the bucks coming up!

Thanks. Ya, he'd been for a swim in the Columbia not too long before that photo was taken. His fur was pretty well laid down when I snapped the photo, but those "liver" colored GWP dogs often have shorter hair. His brother "Willie" on the other hand, is the same color but looks like Chewbaca...
Maverick is a German Wirehaired Pointer. A lot of folks ask that question because of his coloration. He's of the "liver" color, and their hair is of a different texture & color than other GWP's. I've had a couple of others, but this guy sure looks different from them.
He is a purebred, but...
1. I like Timney though the older Rem 700 triggers have done just fine for me.
2. Remington's factory stocks seem to fit me well. My two most used Rem 700 hunting rifles are pillar bedded and free floated, but retain the original walnut stock. Took the 30-06 to Alaska where it did just fine on...
I tagged a mule deer & pronghorn in Wyoming. Took this photo in Montana. And haven't shot a deer in Washington yet. :)
Not sure I'm getting out for whitetail, but if I do, I wouldn't pass up a buck like this! :)

Just to get everyone interested in hunting this season, a buck I photographed a few weeks ago:
What are you using for whitetail this year? And where are you going? If I get out for them, it will be here in Washington state.

Good call, I do very similar shooting, once sighted-in. I'll try the rifle from different field positions, different yardages. Typically I use a 8" paper plate for a target. Figure if I can hit it every time, from kneeling, sitting, standing, etc, I'm hitting the kill zone no problem.

Thanks! I lucked out. The buck is where he fell. I looked at him and thought his antlers would make a nice rifle-rack for a field photo. :)
My hunting buddy snapped one of me with the buck. Easy to see that I was pretty happy:

This 64 year old with a bum leg managed to stalk & shoot the buck. :)
About 150 yards. One shot. Handloaded 160 gr Sierra Game King at about 3050 fps from the 7mm Rem Mag. I was in a modified sitting/kneeling position on a steep slope. Wrapped the Montana Sling around my arm to steady the...
