New rifle, or upgrade the one you own?
Thanks - it was on the rack at a local gun shop a few years ago and I kept looking at it every trip in for weeks... Finally it went home with me. :) It's been a really nice rifle - a near perfect match for my 700 CDL in 25-06 rifle. They're real close to a matched pair. Regards, Guy -

Which nosler bullet do you prefer?
I've taken elk with the 175 gr Partition from a 7mm Rem Mag. Excellent performance, bullet went through the chest, exited the other side. Good size bull took a few faltering steps and went down. Twenty year old Ruger Number One in 7mm Rem Mag. Took mule deer & antelope with it in October. No fancy wood, but I sure like the looks and feel of that rifle. :) -
Elk Roast Christmas Dinner
Well, a year later, went with elk roast from the souse vide again. Really nice, as were the oven-roasted veggies. Steamed the Brussel sprouts - they were okay too. ;)- Guy

Where is all the ammo?
Though I'm pretty well supplied with ammo and components - I'm concerned that this shortage may become a long-term thing. Accordingly I'm cutting back on my shooting, particularly my center-fire shooting. Not real worried about rimfire, have lots of that on hand, but still... It too could be...- Guy

Cow Elk Tips
Hoping to draw a cow elk tag again here in Washington myself. Last one I got was in 2016. The hunt was fun, saw lots of animals and finally shot this big cow at 340 yards with my 30-06 rifle. One and done. The meat was delicious! :) Tips? Get to know the landowners, learn where the elk might... -
