Montana late season rifle or archery
And maybe my bowhunting experiences are not consistent with the average... I went to the little belts in 2017, dry year, all the elk were low on private ranches, easily the most frustrating hunt ive attempted. Bowhunt #2 was in the breaks. Fun, saw lots of elk..but absolutly 0 response to any...- ndhunterman

Afternoon Gentleman, Looking to see what the general consensus is.... Ive elk hunted MT 6 times some rifle, some bow. Shot a few during rifle season, cows and small bulls. When do you think the best time to elk hunt is? Im not going opening rifle- general tag, probably ever again, so have...- ndhunterman

Picking a Colorado unit ?
Ok, ill check those as well. My goals for colorado- hunt area full of aspens, 1st rifle season, kill 1st legal bull I find within 4-5 miles of truck. Been in an awwwful dry spell.- ndhunterman

Im also leaning towards 66, have 2 points. Sounds like only 3 trailheads in the whole unit? Im wondering if its too rugged to manage without packstock? Hunted MT, average 3-5mi from the trailheads with no problem really.- ndhunterman

Deer/Elk Public Access - White Sulphur Springs Area
This. I've hunted the area you are referencing 3 times. Wont be back there anytime soon. Saw a few elk, on public, tons of em on private, and the locals almost laugh when you say your not using an outfitter. Haven't seen a muley over 125 ish in 22 days of hunting. It's your dollar.- ndhunterman

You need a thicker skin. If thats all it takes to get you rattled is a little internet banter...good luck getting an elk. From a guy who has elk hunted MT a few times, take the veteran advice. It'll save you a lot of anguish. Send em a bottle of something good at Christmas, call it good.- ndhunterman
