Actual Weight of Meat - Can we be honest?

That 436 was with bone-in quarters, which with a moose those bones are probably a fairly significant amount of weight.

A little eastern Montana luck

We would always joke around when hunting that country that we would walk around in the dark with our rifles held above our head to catch us when we plummeted into the abyss. Some of those holes are incredible, and really scary how they can be covered up for the most part. Great job on the bull...

Actual Weight of Meat - Can we be honest?

I just happened to have my butcher's sheet from this moose handy. The bull was 11 years old, and the four quarters with bone in, and all other salvageable meat weighed a combined 436 pounds.

I love threads like this. The quality of some of the hunts I've had in units that take a truckload of points is truly mind boggling. Yes, OTC hunts do tend to crank out some of the biggest animals, but running around a giant chunk of public land with only a handful of other tagholders and tons...

Good idea for a thread. I was going through mine not long ago and wondered what others have. I'm probably overkill on mine, but multiple times I've been able to hand hunting partners things that they're glad to have. -gauze -quickclot -clothtape -alcohol pads -antibiotic ointment...

Sorry to bust your balls on it Onpoint, I do get where you're coming from, but that comment struck a nerve with me. I'm chronically ill, but I'm not sure most people would know that by looking at me. Sometimes I feel great and am able to go on some pretty cool alpine hunts and backpacking...
