    Im looking on ammoseek for .243 cartridges and dont know names like Fiocchi, Perfecta, Prvi Partizan, TR&Z, Seller & Bellot, Ten Ring etc. How do these manufacturers compare to say Winchester, Federal or Hornady? Does it matter or is ammo ammo. Thanks.

    Are silencers effective for hunting?

    I was thinking about getting the Tikka T3x, but dont want to limit myself down the road if I decide a suppressor is a good idea. The Tikka also doesnt come in a .223 which I thought may be a good idea down the road for practice. Decisiions.

    For example, to get that 2nd shot (or are you blown regardless). There are a few other non-critical benefits to using them (i.e. not piss off your neighbors, ear protection etc) But do folks use them where they are legal for hunting?

    I'm strongly leaning towards the Tikka T3x. It's interesting to see what the collective power of the internet thinks about the Tikka vs others (and in what order). Looks like the Tikkat3x vs the Browning X Bolt is what most folks are having a tough time with.

    Meat damage is an excellent point too. You can scale your grains dependent on what you're harvesting.

    Injury suffered as a kid. Needed to be glued up after the recoil of a scope. Still have a nasty scar to show for it. Haven’t shot since. But that was decades ago. I’m sure it’s not a big deal now. However, currently more of a philosophical thing for me (ie don’t bring a cannon to a knife fight).

    Here, found the motherload! Does anyone know what the situation is with the .308 low recoil ammo (RL308W1)? Its out of stock everywhere. To me, this appears to be the perfect combo for low recoil but opens up options for elk hunts in the future.

    Here's a pack of the .30-06 125 at 2660, but I think they've been discontinued. The .308 125 at 2675 with 9 recoil energy appear to be PERFECT on paper, but they're like $1.50 a piece.
