id say ethically 100-150 yrds is what i picked,,,though in 2020 i was able to get a 5x5 in idaho at 240 yrds w open sights after my missed warning shot,,put it about 18" over the top of its back and it laid it right in there,,plus ill take a little luck on it too.
sounds like there was some flash flooding recently last last around moab,,if anybody has been around mt abajo or {the causeway} im hoping the roads are stiil ok in about a month for the muzzy deer season.

does anybody know how the weather has been down there this summer? i know its been hot,,has the monsonal rains started? any blown out roads from any flash flooding? doesnt appear to be to bad for forest fires from what i see down there on on x,,,oregon has burnt heavy this year on the east side...
i just got mine today,,10x42 hdx ,,pretty impressed with the stabilization feature,,will see how they do this fall,,got the 12x42 instead of the 16x42 for hopefully a bit better low light conditions from what i looked into.

ive been using the factory cable on mine for over 10 years with only the hook going bad once and repaired,,i just make sure i clean and oil the cable every once in a while and inspect for frays.oiling once a year helps the cable live a long time.

i would think that if your dealing with the weight of a plow,i would think cable would be better for weight and low stretch,,if you go synthetic you gotta make sure there is nothing that could shafe or cut on corners or pullys.
